    Default Always nauseous

Good morning everyone I had my gastric sleeve done on June 1, 2017. I am constantly nauseous no matter how much or how little I eat. After the first bite of food in the morning I'm sick all day long and I don't want to eat again after that, but I'm so hungry I eat another bite and get sicker. Protein shakes, soup, mashed potatoes, it doesn't matter what it is I get sick. Can anyone give me some guidance on how to stop this nausea? Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!

I am so sorry that you are feeling so nauseated. When I was getting my gasx strips from CVS last night I noticed an entire section of nauseated medicine and almost purchased some strips or chewables... I don't know if you can take anything like that? Some more experienced members will chime in I am sure. I am pre-op and still learning my way around. I hope you are feeling better soon!! xo

Firstly, sorry that you are having difficulty eating. It is essential that you get the daily minimum protein and water requirements for proper recovery. It is probably why you have continued to feel the way you do.

Other thoughts are that you make sure you talk to your NUT and surgeon, hopefully they are aware of your condition by now. Are you taking any anti nausea meds? Or acid reflux? I was given a prescription for acid reflux that I had to take the first month. Gasx never did anything for me, but Pepsid did. Take the pepsid first thing in the morning see how you do. Tums did the trick too.

But TALK to your medical team first if you haven't.

There are lots of meds for this. Redundant advice, but call your surgeon ASAP. You shouldn't have to tolerate this.

    Best wishes!

I don't want to alarm but that doesn't sound normal. I urge you to contact your surgeon's office without delay.

Your PCP or surgeon should be able to prescribe you an anti nausea. It is crucial that you are getting in enough protein and fluids as you can become really sick if not. I know that I only had that issue the first week and the anti nausea medication that my surgeon prescribed was a god send.
