    Default A Healthy Flour Tortilla?

I could have sworn I read on here somewhere at one time that there are healthier versions of flour tortillas out there in the world, but for the life of me can not remember WHO mentioned it. Not that I plan to make a habit of eating these, but I would like to make a fish taco and if I use a tortilla, I'd prefer something with the least amount of carbs. Trader Joe's opened last week right near my house and I haven't ventured in yet, but was curious if anyone has suggestions.

There are some tortillas that are packaged as being low-carb, but when you look at the nutrition panel, they still look like they have more carbs than I want.

low-in-carb is one brand comes in multiple flavors run around 13g carbs per wrap, another is fiber1 wraps but the carb count on them is higher. With either of those they are large enough to cut in half when making your sandwich which is what I do with them when I eat one.

I remember back in Weight Watchers there were some that were only one "point," so just look at the stores and read the calories, fat, etc. There are some healthier options out there.

I had the Mission low carb tortilla. They market it towards Fajitas. It's 4 net carbs per tortilla.
I thought they were pretty good. They range from $3.50-$4.79 per pack depending where you go.

Shirl, I think it was you that mentioned the paleo tortillas! I knew I had read something recently. I have tried a good flatbread and I did like it, and it was lighter than a tortilla.

Try this site http://www.greatlowcarb.com/ as they have low carb every kind of bread you can think of. I have not ordered yet but intend to after I get back from vacation. I am thinking since I won't use them regularly they can most likely be frozen. (I know regular bread can.) If you try them, please let me know how they are!

I also find that I still prefer the" stuffing" as opposed to the tortilla ... its just too filling...i usually end up feeling nauseous... same with any bread-like products..I'd rather just eat the protein and veggies...

Well done! That is really fantastic progress. I am new to the group. My surgery is July 25th! So, very excited. Long journey to this point. I originally was going to have bypass in 2015 and "chickened out". But now I not only want to lose weight but also to reverse some medical issues. (prediabetes, fatty liver, and so on.) Keep up the good work.
