Hi My name is Kadisha. I have finally made the decision to have gastric sleeve surgery after a few years of being undecided. My initial consult was on May 31, 2017 and I just had a second appointment with the nutritionist on June 21, 2017. My surgery is currently scheduled for August 8, 2017 as long as everything goes as planned. I am excited but nervous to be making this move in my life. I really do feel however that this is the right time for me. A few years back when I first thought about having WLS my mother was very ill and I was helping to care for her as well as working as a nurse. My mother passed in Feb 2016, and now I feel like I have the time to focus on me and my needs. I have struggled with my weight since childhood and I am realizing more and more over the years that losing weight is necessary for me to be healthy. My mother died of obesity related illnesses and I just don't want to follow that same path. So, I just thought I would introduce myself. I look forward to being part of this forum.

I was originally going to have my surgery in 2010. I wish things would have fallen into place but I know in my heart the time was right when I had it. Things happen for a reason and It's the best decision I ever made! Wishing you the best of luck on your new journey!
