    Default Ahhhhh!!!

So I spent 5 days straight climbing mountains in Idaho, one 12 miles around the ski mountain, others with thousands of feet elevation. Breakfast was eggs with tomato and onion along with some fresh berries, lunch on the mountain was an apple and nut mix, and dinner was something healthy, mainly fish with veggies. Drank 2 liters of water every day in my back pack bladder.

I LOST NO WEIGHT. Still weigh exactly the same. I'm starting to think maybe your body has a set point where it wants to stay. All I can say this morning is IMPOSSIBLE! Every party of my body aches, even my toes.

Rant over. (You guys sick my maintenance whining yet?). Did love my mountains!

Hang in there! Our bodies do hit plateaus and for many reasons have delayed weight loss. As an RN, I have done much research on nutrients and what our body needs to increase our metabolism and promote further weight loss. Nutrients are key to a healthy lifestyle and balancing what your body needs to continue to lose weight. One thought- perhaps during that trip you lost some weight and replaced those pounds with lean muscle.. Muscle weighs more than fat :-) Try no to focus so much on the scale.. I have had the same problem getting frustrated with that dang NUMBER. I now weigh myself once per week.. same day/time each week. I recently started some products that have been created for the body to absorb 90% of the nutrients- which I feel is key post WLS.. I don't like pills and I don't like shakes.. So, this Core Essential Vitamin is great for me.. One capsule per day.. I have chosen to take all 5 products because I feel they are all great.. Some are capsule and some are sprays/gels that you hold under your tongue for 1-2 minutes which is another great quality for post WLS. Check out the products and give them a try.. You won't be disappointed.
Call or Text me with any questions- I would be glad to answer your questions or provide additional information.
Most importantly.. Don't give up!! Weight loss is a daily struggle but we will succeed!

Like Ann says, this is just one big science experiment.

Thanks nakishaice for your information. It is just so weird that I maintained my exact goal weight for THREE YEARS and now have gained 5 pounds, and maintained that weight for months. I was so excited to weigh myself this morning after a week of mountain climbing, only to be disappointed yet again. I will be having hubby hide the scale again, and write down everything I put in my mouth.

    I'M POSSIBLE you mean?

Kidding! I hear your frustration I haven't lost an ounce and on a five pound moon gain currently. On Thrusday I wore my favorite shorts that I wash and wear. Saturday moon came down with vengeance and rushed home change, put on shorts and they were uncomfortably tight. I took a water pill and today I'm back to normalish moon abdomen.

I received my Bulletproof Coffee Kit and book yeaterday. This past week I have been alternating carbs and low-carb days to see if I can kick start metabolism again. I will let you know next week if it helped me any. "Supposedly" this dude lost 1lb a day.

I know and hopefully it goes without saying that there is no one set of dietary rules or formula that applies to every single person. I hope you find that key that will help you stay on goal. I'll continue searching same for me.

    Hugs!!!

Ps... you look amazing! Lean and healthy! And most importantly you are beautiful!

I did this several times over the years.. I would find one thing I felt could be hindering my weight loss and either cut it out completely or restrict it more so than I had been. My addiction was sweet tea... and I found it was clearly deterring my weight loss.. I do still occasionally fall for the temptation but I limit it. You've GOT THIS :-)

I begged for the scale after the mountain trip. But I had him hide it again. And you're right, my good health is much more important than 5 pounds. I bet most 60 year old people couldn't have climbed the mountains I did for four days in a row.

I'm going through the same thing. Been at the same weight for two years no matter how terribly I eat, and I do eat terribly. This past month I've gained 6 - 7 pounds putting me up to 113.8 lbs. Coincidentally I've also hit my activity goals nearly daily which is something I never ever did in the past two and a half years.

I actually hit 115.6 one day and freaked out. I did a protein shake (one for breakfast and one for dinner) and water only day and managed to get back to 112, but I went right back to crappy eating the very next day.

Some days (most) it depresses the crap out of me, but I just can't bring myself to stop the nighttime million calorie junk food fests. It mostly just pisses me off because my eating hasn't changed at all, it's just finally catching up to me. *sigh*
