Default Feel like I have messed up

My mom says stop being so hard on myself...but here it goes. I am on the full liquids stage and I feel like I have been having too much sugar free pudding :/. Does anyone know how many carbs, sugar, fat, sodium, and calories I should be having at each stage to achieve optimal weight loss? Any feedback would be most appreciated.

I only had broth and protein shakes (2 a day) on liquids.
I personally would try to stay away from pudding, but that's just me. have a protein shake instead. My office pushed protein. Especially in the beginning when you are getting so little.

The dietitian at my bariatric surgeon's practice did not require me to count calories, carbs, fat grams, sugar or sodium. The only things I needed to count were grams of protein and ounces of water.

Here's the theory behind their reasoning...protein provides excellent satiety and keeps the metabolic rate steady due to its high thermic effect during digestion. If you're consuming 80+ grams of protein per day in the form of food (e.g. Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, meats, legumes, nuts), it will be virtually impossible to overeat.

NOTE: protein shakes and bars are helpful in attaining daily protein intake goals, but the body doesn't process them the same as protein from actual food. The protein in shakes and bars is less bioavailable.

Once you reach your pureed stage, start eating protein from real foods ASAP. Good luck to you.

I agree with rehab nurse. You should be getting your protein and water first. Very important. Especially for nutrient purposes. And especially in the beginning when you can't have much. Your body needs fuel.

For the first two weeks after surgery I was on protein drinks. I had a minimum amount of protein and liquids I had to reach.

I'm like others here, was not told to count calories, just protein and liquid.

    Good luck! You'll be fine!
