    Talking Sleep Study

Picked up my sleep machine today. I am one of the lucky ones who gets to do it at home. Now the only other appointment I have is my psych eval which is in July. Then I will finally be done with all my testing. I'm actually looking forward to getting a sleep machine. I know I have sleep apnea and many people have told me how much better they feel after getting a sleep apnea machine. I should know in about 2 weeks or so if I have it once my results come back.

I don't have sleep apnea but at my highest weight I was snoring like crazy. I always woke up exhausted. The kids made fun of me they could hear me from the other side of the house. But with my long diet in 2012 I was lucky to see the snoring gone for good.

I hope the machine will help you to sleep better and feel rested.

Right now I'm trying to convince my husband to do a sleep study too. His snoring got much worth and I'm pretty sure he has sleep apnea. He is not obese or overweight but gained a little belly since he turned 40 (like his dad). Since the belly, the snoring is getting worth and worth...or is it my tolerance to the noise decreasing?

Not sure what your requirements are, but I had to wait 8 weeks after getting my CPAP to see the pulmonist again so that he could send a compliance report to my bariatric doctor. I had to have 80% compliance I believe. I used my CPAP religiously after I got it and definitely noticed a change in my quality of sleep.

Good luck. I am sure having the sleep study at home is way better. I sleep terribly when I am not in my own bed. Even going to a nice hotel is hard for me as I am always uncomfortable.

I wish my wife would get tested. She is always exhausted and I know she has apnea. I know her life will improved dramatically if she gets tested and treated.
