Four days, post op.

I'm feeling better everyday, now i'm able to move with very little pain. my incisions look great. itch like crazy though.
I started my stage 2, week 2 full liquid diet today. It took me about 3 hrs to sip down my premiere protein shake this
morning. It wasn't bad at all and didn't burn going down. first couple days i had to admit i was so scared to put anything
in my stomach. and it burned going down. But just hang in there because it gets better!

On a sad note, My brother, sister and I lost our father yesterday, he passed... At first i just felt angry, because its just the last thing i needed right now with recovering and not able to do anything to help. Now i just feel sadness about it, it made it hard to sleep lastnight, my anxiety was off the charts. but i slept a little this morning and feeling a-bit better. He wasn't well for a long time, so i know hes in a place where he isn't hurting anymore.

Kristy, my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. Loss of a loved one is never easy, I wish that like our sleeve it gets better with time, but these last few days I have been remembering my little sister and have found myself deeply missing her... my heart hurts at times.

I hope this will not hinder your recovery in any way or form, and that it will only give you the will and strength to continue your program because your dad would want the best life for you.

Life's stresses never, ever end. Learning how to navigate them without anesthetizing ourselves with food is one of WLS's GREATEST learning opportunities. You just got your first real learning opportunity earlier than most WLS patients do.

I am so sorry for your loss Kristy. I know what you mean about a better place. I lost my mom to breast cancer almost 2 years ago after a 5 year battle. It actually spread to her brain and then her liver. I was so sad when she passed even though I knew she was no longer in pain. The last 2 months she wasn't even lucid most of the time. I feel your pain my dear. Sending you big virtual hugs and love your way. I know that it can't take away your pain but you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Try not to let your grief keep you from taking care of your health. This is a crucial time post op when it is hard to get your nutrients in. Please be careful.

When i started on protein shakes I couldn't finish it
all at once it took a total of three meals to drink one shake. Hang in there and try to stick to your plan.

Losing a parent is one of the hardest things we go through as humans. Losing the strongest people in our lives who have been our whole foundation leaves us feeling a little lost. But don't feel lost, they are with us in our foundation and always will be. Your dad is very proud of you and the steps you have taken. Remember that therapists exist to get us through these rough spots so use your tools.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mother almost a year and a half ago. It is one of the hardest things I have been through in my life. My thoughts are with you. Glad to hear things are going well with your recovery from surgery.
