Cool Dr. Ortiz at ALM this Thursday!

    Hello all!

My Wife and I leave Wednesday to start our new Lifestyle! We are both very excited. We have been doing a lot of research to make sure we bring everything we need, but of course, being a few days out, we are nervous. Any pointers on items to bring, cool places to check out before and after surgery, pointers for the "companion" to keep in mind or to do.

Any advice would be appreciated :-)

Don't over pack as you won't need too much. The more walking and sipping post op the quicker recovery will be. Pack a heating pad. I loved mine post op. I wasn't sleeved in Mexico but I didn't need much in the hospital. Slip on shoes, loose comfy clothes, any medications, a magazine, phone and charger, heating pad, toiletries, chap stick, gas strips, and I personally liked having my own pillow. I will say I have heard that Mexico sleevers recommend bringing your own bullion cubes to make broth as I hear they run out quick. Warm liquids such as broth and tea go down easier post op. My hubby was helpful by just keeping me company...and walking with me.

I just returned today from surgery with Dr. Ortiz, today. The experience was wonderful. I was sleeved on Tuesday, 9/12. The facility was clean, the staff was very professional and the Marriott staff and security were outstanding. I experienced reflux on day 2. The doctors treated me quickly and I've been up and walking with very little gas or discomfort.Pack lightly. Walk, walk, walk after your procedure. I'm 5 days out and don't feel like I had anything done!!!

I wish you both all the best!
