Folks,
I subscribe to Louise Hendon's Paleo recipe listserve, and got this interesting invitation to attend their Keto Summit (via live webinar) with expert speakers on the Keto and Paleo Lifestyles.
Personally while I don't follow the low-carb recommendation, however, I do follow the protein first rule for Sleeve Gastrectomy WLS patients. I eat a well balanced nutrient rich diet (lifestyle) that includes fruits, vegetables and whole grains, seeds and nuts. I am, however, an advocate of learning new things and see if I can incorporate in my daily living.
I have many friends who have autoimmune deficiencies, allergies to all sorts of foods, are celiacs, and they have been able to control their diseases and allergies by going Paleo. When I followed a PaleoBetic (Paleo and Diabetic) diet pre and post op I lost weight and specially inches (drastically) I just felt it was so restrictive and not lifelong sustainable for me (most likely because of my passive aggressiveness tendencies, and need to feel free and liberated from food restrictions) though obviously my friends have been able to stick to it for years and it is part of who they are. It works for them somehow.

Note: This is not for WLS patients specifically, but to learn more about the Keto and Paleo Lifestyle.
