Anyone from Boise?

Planning a trip to Boise this month (actually staying in Eagle) and looking for nearby hiking recommendations. Last year we did Jump Creek, the 10 mile loop around the ski hill, and that big sandy mountain in the middle of town. (Where did that come from???)

So excited to get my trekking poles out! Must be summer!

Get on the interstate and head northeast about 5 hours. Stop when you hit the Tetons. Got lots of hikes to show you. Might as well bring your skis, too. Over 1/2 the trails are still under a couple feet of snow. And don't forget your bear spray....they are waking up! Passed within 20 feet of a black bear two weekends ago. Fortunately he was too busy snuffling the ground to care about us and the dogs never saw/smelled him.

Unfortunately I don't know the Boise area, but no doubt you'll have fun!

Bears scare me! I can imagine spraying into the wind and it coming back on me. I'm just joining hubby for a long weekend so probably won't have time for the Tetons. But wow, are you lucky to live there, my fellow former Wisconsinite!

Now that I have been retired for ONE month, and have a companion pass for Southwest, I get to tag along with hubby whenever he is going someplace interesting. (With mountains. Or near family. But mountains first.)

We have driven all over northern part of the state from Spokane, WA but haven't gone to Boise.

I just loved the Teton Mountains! that view coming out of airplaine when we stayed in Jackson Hole is unforgettable!

I am a companion on Southwest as well! month of July and early August I will be joining my partner in several trips before I go back to school!
