Default hiccups and a roaring lion in my throat!

Hi everyone! So it's been about 6 weeks since my surgery and I feel great. The weight is coming off at a fairly steady pace right now - around 2 lbs per week for the last few weeks. I'm able to eat most things, although I haven't had bread or alcohol or anything sweet and I'm eating very small amounts.

I'm wondering - do you all get hiccups a LOT? I get them a few times per day. almost every time I eat. and when I drink anything, the sounds that come from inside my esophagus sound like the inside of the lion cage at feeding time. I'm surprised my coworkers can't hear it.

That is kind of funny... I am still pre-op but I am sure I will experience this too in a few short weeks. Can't wait to hear what others say! Glad you are doing so well (hugs)

I am 10 weeks out and I get the hiccups if I drink too fast (wish I could say 'drink too much water'-- I am still struggling getting that in), or if I ate too much (too much as in more than 2 oz at any given meal). The hiccups will start and I know I screwed up. It feels worse NOW than hiccups ever felt before for some reason. But, it's better than the vomiting that has occured!

I'm 7 months post op and still get hiccups if I eat or drink too much or too quickly. Eventually all your weird sounds will stop. I always had tons of stomach noises.

Yes, always get hiccups if I eat or drink too quickly. They go away pretty quickly though.

Good to know! A coworker told me she heard my stomach growling in a meeting today. It wasn't actually growling from hunger, it's just the noise it makes when I drink water!

I've actually met people who give their new stomachs a name because "it talked to them." I'm 6 years out and still get weird noises coming from the belly at times and hiccups are common among patients Hope this helps!

I'm 6 months post op and I get hiccups though less and less as time passes. However, I also belch like THUNDER for about a minute after I eat. No signs of it letting up since surgery.

I am close to 3 years post op (8/8) and I still have this. It is something I think we deal with but at least I get a laugh out of it most times.

I get the lion as well, every 15 seconds when I overeat and it lasts for a couple of minutes.
And whenever I drink, a single lion might pop up.
My husband and kids can definitely hear it.

I do not get hiccups, never have, but I do get the strange "lion sound" when I am hungry, full or overeat... I have never been able to describe it, kind of a burp, but not... but I am coming on three years and it has not changed....never had it before the sleeve...

I rarely get hiccups, but it is only when I eat a bit too fast; my hiccups hurt so I am trying to make sure I still eat slowly. I still have lots of noises coming out of my belly; it's especially noisy if I forget to eat, or when stuff is moving through my intestines.

I do however often get a slightly runny nose when I'm feeling about satisfied/done with my food. My body's new way of letting me know I'm good to stop eating, I guess!
