Unhappy 2012 sleeve surgery, had another baby now have problems

    Hi! I had sleeve in 2012. I went from 352# July 2012, to 213# October 2014.
Shortly after I became pregnant with #5(but first post surgery), and went up 30#.
It was not until post partum (August 2015) that I gained a lot more weight and now have hypothyroid, hashimotos and anemia!
Anyone else experience this or some of this?
I'm stuck in the 260's, on thyroid medication, now having to go to a GI doctor to see if I'm losing blood in that region.
    Help!?!?!

I haven't experienced pregnancy or anemia, but I've had thyroid disease for 19 years. I've been hypothyroid for 12 years.

Weight loss can happen with hypothyroidism if your physician places you on the correct type/dose of thyroid hormone meds. You lose slower with hypothyroidism compared to those who don't have it, but weight loss (and maintenance) is attainable.

Good luck to you, and congratulations on the baby.

So sorry to hear you are struggling. Have you spoken to your surgeon?

Thank you! I'm on levothyroxin 50mcg, about 6 months now. The baby will be 2 in August.
I went to see the nutritionist, and found out my surgeon passed away. She just said that I should only be consuming 1000 calories per day.
So now I'm researching hashimoto disease/hypothyroidism, and it says follow the paleo type diet.
Is that OK? I'm wondering if it will help... So discouraged but not ready to give up. I'm still 90 pounds less than pee surgery.

I'm hypothyroid and maintain my body weight consuming 2000+ calories per day, but I exercise on most days of the week. I'd rather eat what I want than restrict my food intake to 1000 calories a day. That's no way to live.

Your metabolic rate can slow down if you restrict your food intake for too long. However, if you haven't done so already, you need to see an endocrinologist to optimize your thyroid medication for the best weight loss results.

You might see results on a paleo diet. Many people do. However, I do not believe in diets. As a prolific poster (tinman) indicated, many of us really sucked at diets prior to surgery. I eat what I want, including carbs and fat.

Thanks rehab nurse. The endocrinologist net with me once, but now just review my blood work every 3 months. I had to google my diagnosis and what I should do.
So you eat a 2000 calorie diet to maintain? Do you think if I go back to only lean protein, veggies, some fruit and some healthy carbs I'd lose again?
Honestly, I started walking, T25, and eating cabbage soup I made, and I'm down some already. I just wanted to clean or my system, and I'm really freaking out about the anemia.
