Retirement, Day #1

School's out FOREVER! Already did my hour and a half hike this morning, now off to the library for airplane books, flying to see the grandkids tonight.

Today is also day #1 of Operation No Longer a Fat A$$! I will get these 5 pounds off. I guess 5 pounds above goal isn't that much, but I really feel yucky about it. Some things are a little tighter, and I can see my tummy in tight dresses. I can do it. I did love that three year honeymoon period though. Luckily there's typically no food at my son's house. I guess grandma and grandpa are expected to buy it.

But just to show how far I've come, here's me with my daughter's baby number two (4 years ago) and number baby number three (2 months ago). Plus I'm sure you all wanted to see my beautiful break-your-neck brace (which is now gone, thank God!). Looking at these old pictures does give me motivation.

Congrats on your retirement!!! I give all teachers SO much credit. Your weight-loss is inspiring and how cute are those babies!!! I know I used to love pictures with my kids and initially with my first grandchild... fast forward to my fourth and I find myself cropping more and more of myself out of the frame due to my obesity. Can't wait to have my surgery and be a slim and fit Granny!!!! Hope you enjoy retirement!!!

First day of of no school before noon:

1. Made hubby Belgian Waffles with sausage crumbled inside. (Didn't have any, not part of my Operation No Longer a Fat A$$.)
2. Long hike in the woods
3. Annual first day of vacation trip to the library! I will have time to READ BOOKS.
5. Bought new running shoes and one of those cool flip belts. Third pair of Sauconys, which I highly recommend.
6. Ran errands.

Now it's time to pack for Texas! (Maybe after my first day of vacation nap!).

Congratulations on your retirement! and on that new grandbaby and last, but certainly not least, congratulations on making your goal weight!! I can't wait to be in your shoes--my husband and I will be retiring at the end of October this year and hopefully I will be sleeved in June or July this year. Then off to visit those grandkids in Texas and New York.

You're gonna love retirement! It's the best "job" I've ever had. Goodbye, multi-tasking. Time to spoil yourself.

And yes -- those pix offer great motivation. I couldn't imagine trading the life I now have for [insert here whichever stupid slider crap foods I used to eat mindlessly in front of the TV]. No contest.
