    Default Not losing weight...

so I read this tons of times, and now I'm in that boat and I'm sort of scared.

    So I started at 245.
I lost about 5lb on the months before my surgery.
Lost another 10lb on the 2 week liquid diet.
I had my surgery on May1st and didn't lose until a week after.
lost 12 lb which brought me to thursday of last week (May 18th)
and I have not lost any weight since then.

What is going on? I did start my cycle monday, which could be part of it, but I still feel like I'm losing slowly.

I'm not exercising as much as I should, I'll be starting yoga soon. I hate running or any gym stuff. I have been walking, but not as much as I should I guess.

but I'm eating less than 800 calories a day. High protein, low carb, low fat. 3 meals a day, around 1 or 2 protein shakes a day. Lots of water.

I just can't imagine that someone can eat this little bit, and still not lose weight. It's making me upset. This was my last resort, I've tried everything and I'm almost 40 and freaking out.

I hit a plateau after the first week and was stymied because I had not eaten much of anything (not by choice, but because I couldn't tolerate much being in me) and figured the weight SHOULD come off. Right? Wrong! I was in starvation mode and once I forced myself to get in that 1/8 cup of soup and protein drink and water (which wasn't much as it was), by the third week the pounds were coming off. But, I did start walking by the end of the first 7 or 8 days, a mile a day and increasing to about 2 miles a day right after that. The exercise helped me tremendously I feel. The more I move, the more comes off. (I'm almost 60... this fall.)

Look up "three week stall." Then try your best to stay off the scale. Regularly weighing in will drive you into insanity.

I estimate 90 percent of sleevers enter a stall at about the 3rd post-op week, plus or minus a week. The stall could last up to four weeks. Just continue following your plan. As long as you aren't grazing on Dunkin' Donuts and sipping on fast food shakes, you will lose weight.

    Good luck to you!

I had the stall in my 3rd week and have really slowed down the amount of weight that I'm losing. I was hoping that I would be further along. But, I'm still losing and I seem to have mini stalls in which my body is really changing. I'm adding muscle and the fat seems to be re-shaping. Hang in there, gurl, you are losing; just remember that everyone loses at different rates and in different ways.

Don't compare yourself to others, you're defeating your own journey. Last tip, try not to weigh yourself more than 1 to 2 times a week. Anything else will drive you nutty. All the best!

I had my surgery on April 17th. Lost around 15lbs in the first 2 weeks and then 5 more over the next 2 weeks after that. And then 1 lb the following week....
I had no pre-surgery diet and my starting weight was 252 I think. I'm 49. Everyone loses at different speeds and it's normal to have it slow down. I've even had it go up slightly, and I KNOW I'm not gaining real weight eating 600 calories a day!

Been there, done that. Yup. Everyone hits a stall around 3-5 weeks and everyone freaks out!!! Just relax. The scale will start moving again.

At this point, you should be having all proteins. Concentrate on your protein levels. You are likely not getting near enough.

The most important part is you are still genetically a caveman. Your genes know that you are a hunter/gatherer and there are lean times when your body must protect itself. If you enter a starvation period your body will fight it until it cant anymore. Just make sure you get your protein so you protect your muscles and lose only the fat.

I must say i took a drastic step to avoid the stalls honestly beleieve me i have not been on the scales after surgery and i will wait to get weighed on my 6 week check up which is 7th of june i can see the clothes are loose fitting and i am keeping to the amounts i should be eating. I must say one of the reasons why i did not realise that i weighed this much before persuing this surgery is i am bad with going on scales as i am scared of the disappointment. One of my resolutions is to weigh myself every 2 weeks after my consultation so as to keep an eye on the weight but first i have to buy the battries for the current scales which do not work

    Pre op weight 114kg
    6 weeks post op 102kg

    17 weeks post op 91kg
    20 weeks post op 89kg

Hang in there, you are doing just fine! Just stick with the program and the weight will come off. I'm losing very slowly now, and not putting too much faith in the scale. I typically weigh myself every other day, but if I'm up a bit, I don't fret over it.
    Wishing you continued success!
