Just got sleeved 2 days ago..in pain--help!

Starting weight 275. Day of surgery 260...I haven't weighed since surgery.

I got home from hospital yesterday and they wrote my pain RX for liquid oxycodone. Two stupid pharmacies didn't have it. I'm going to the hospital-affiliate here in town to their pharmacy--to see if they can fill this. Right now I feel like I've been shot 5 times in the gut and My only defense is stupid Tylenol liquid.

Been walking and Gax X but this is actual surgery pain. Oh...and trying to down liquid cap Tylenol mixed with Gatorade I'd horrible !!!

Is this true pain or gas discomfort? You should not have true pain from the sleeve. Each person's pain tolerance is different. Walk and walk some more to release the gas. You will feel better soon with each passing day. Just keep saying, "this too shall pass".......literally! LOL!

This may help you, but my doctor wrote me a prescription for Roxycodone immediate release pills. They are just the Percocet, with no Tylenol. They are small and pretty easy to swallow. You may be able to switch to those instead of the liquid. I didn't have to take any of my meds in liquid form. Just had to swallow pills slowly and one at a time.
The pain will pass soon, but I agree you need something more to help the first several days.

Oh man that sucks! Hopecyou can get it figured out. This is something I wouldn't want to go through without some pain relief!

you'll be fine in a few days , I found week 1 tough too but I'm now in week 8 and feel awesome

The first few days are the hardest. The only time I had any pain. I think I only took my liquid oxy like 3 or 4 times that first week. Hopefully it will pass soon. Very few people still have pain after the first week. Try a heating pad.

I didn't need any narcotics after day 2. I took Toradol instead, it's a anti inflammatory med and worked great. I walked frequently Starting when I woke up from Anesthesia. By week two I was walking 2-7 miles a day. Found walking to be a good pain reducer along with using a heating pad when I was laying down. You'll feel better, recommend asking your doctor about Toradol. It won't cause severe constipation like narcotics will and good pain reliever. Maybe you'll be different. I found since Sleeve Surgery I have to take Miralax along with Linzest to keep regular plus lots of fiber and exercise. I average 17,000 steps a day. I have a Fitbit watch and love it. You can connect with friends who have a Fitbit watch or make friends. We have competition's too. Very motivating. Good luck with your journey.

Skip the gas-x strips, that's for intestinal gas, you had air pumped into your insides so they could do the surgery easier. Did you get liquid pain meds? I was lucky to not have much pain, I just slept most of that first week. I did sleep in my recliner because my bed was too high to climb into. Feel better soon! I would bet in a week your pain is gone.

I was given my prescription for liquid oxycodone a week BEFORE surgery and had it filled the same day. I never needed to open the bottle, never had any pain, but I knew to make sure I had it BEFORE I got home from the hospital. Hope you can get hold of some if it truly is that bad.

Finally a local compounding pharmacy was able to fill the liquid oxycodone and I feel 200% better. Been walking, sippping and breathing--I'm so much better. Thanks everyone!

Omg I feel you the same thing happen to me but the pain it was actually the pressure that I fell in my chest not so much the pain of this sleeve you need to let that air I don't but trust me it will go away hopefully soon

When I had my surgery, I had a nerve clipped in abdomen. It hurt for about a month every time I moved. I used a pillow to hold against my stomach to prevent the nerve from being irritated.

Now I am itching everywhere...put benedryl around all incision areas but itching bad on each side of torso #unnerving

I found a clever way to get in fiber....mix Metamucil into orange G2 --can't even tell it's there!
