......
Awwww i am sending loads and loads of hugs to you. When i had my pre surgery semminar they said there was another proccedure which they mentioned called the mini bypass i do not know enough about it maybe you can google it
I'm so sorry to hear of your dilemma.
Had my insurance not covered my Sleeve Gastrectomy I was looking at the OCC in Mexico. Take a look at their website and look for gastric redux section. Reach out to them and see if you can get a phone consultation, perhaps they will be able to review your medical records and recent test results???
Just a few thoughts.

Yeah that's what I meant.
Seems like you are at the end of your rope and I was merely offering a solution. It is up to you if you want call the OCC to discuss what your current surgeon told you, or ask if they be willing to review your endoscopy results for a second (or third) opinion.

Sending you a really big hug! I had pretty severe acid reflux, so I was extremely worried about getting the sleeve. Especially since the results are so varied, some people's reflux gets worse, some better, some no change...
I'm one month out now, and I'm happy to report that so far, it's been pretty good. I still get reflux and heartburn, but it's not any worse than it was before, in fact maybe just a bit better. I hope it stays that way I still take my reflux meds, which help a lot! I'll probably have to remain on them long term. My cousin had the sleeve 2 years ago, and never had issues with reflux, now hers is so bad that she is switching to a bypass.
I'd get the second opinion. I wish you the best of luck with your final decision, but I hate to see you give up! Hang in there
I had made it to the point that I was doing the sleeve or the bypass, but staying the way I was, was not an option. I know people who have had the bypass and they are happy and live normal lives with no issues or complications. If you want to change the weight / obesity issue and all its complications, then if it were me, I'd be preparing myself for a bypass.... Just my thoughts. Not an easy decision I know. When you look (and stress) about the potential complications of the bypass, what are the potential (and likely) complications from obesity? Diabetes (not fun), high blood pressure, apnea, etc etc.....
Good luck in your decision.
I also had GERD without symptoms. But I don't think it was as bad as yours.

Maybe a second opinion from a different bariatric surgeon? All those tests and records are yours, and could be passed on to another surgeon. So sorry this is happening to you.
I had pretty sever acid reflux as well and he was reluctant to do mine as well, but I opted for it. I have had no problems thus far and I am fives weeks post op. I feel great and it was so worth it!! Sending out positive vibes your way and I hope it works out for you.
I had acid reflux. Turns out I had a hernia and an ulcer that was causing it. Other than the acid reflux that most people experience immediately post op I seem to be fine now at just over 6 months post op. No issues at all. That is just my personal experience. Good luck.
I had a hiatal hernia repaired during surgery too in March that I didn't know I had. Never had any acid reflux issues ever in my life. I had a barium swallow before the surgery and it never showed up. With mine being repaired, I should never have reflux problems, according to my surgeon.
Best of luck.

I couldn't afford the sleeve and then discovered the low-carb/high-fat way of eating. It's virtually stopped my reflux, and I've lost weight without battling my appetite. Wishing that you find a path that works for you.
