    Default Stalled again!

Just 70 days post surgery and I am in a stall again. Second one, the first lasted about 2 weeks. It's frustrating to say the least and it makes it hard to deal with things. People notice the weight loss frequently and I realize my clothes are getting big again. It hard to keep it in perspective sometimes.

It's only been 2 months, not really that long but hate it when you see the same numbers on the scale from week to week.
I feel better, I exercise and have more energy for everyday chores and yardwork, etc, but at the same time I know I could do more. If I push too hard my knee remind me I'm getting old and still overweight. lol

I guess patience has never been my strongest asset but I feel good and every once in a while I get a reminder that what I'm doing is actually working. I got my picture back from the Meet & Greet with the band Alter Bridge from last week and I actually stared at it a bit because I could notice the changes. Oh well scale stalls be damned I am doing the best I can.

Good for you JIm! From what I am learning here... the stalls happened and then the weight starts to come off again. Stay the course and keep up your positive attitude. Good luck

Hi Jim, I had my surgery the day before you and I just finally broke my second stall this one last just about three weeks. I know how hard it is especially when things are going so good and you set goals for yourself to be a certain weight by a certain time and then a stall hits... I had been so depressed these last few weeks then suddenly on Friday the scale started moving a bit and I am finally seeing it move a tiny bit each day. It is such a relief when it starts to move again. I think as much as we tell ourselves that it is just a stall we still hit panic mode. Hang in there it will break!

Boy do I share your frustration brother. I'm 3 months out and down 70 pounds but only lost 9 pounds in the last 30 which drives me nuts because I'm over 400. I expected to get at least 20 a month for the first 5 or so months. Did an inventory of what I'm eating and making a few changes to snap out of it. I have very bad hips so is hard for me to exercise but I am walking more each day. I know it will pass and am staying the course. Good luck to you.

Even if your scale is not budging I am sure that your body is going through changes and getting slimmer. I can tell you that weight is not the only measure of success. I highly encourage you to take pictures and track your measurements at least every 2 weeks. I know plenty of times when my scale did not move I continued to lose inches. You are doing a great job with your weight loss. Don't get discouraged.

I know exactly how you feel. I've had a few stalls too. I'm 2.5 months out from surgery. It is sooo frustrating. I know we all know the deal-- it'll break, your body adjusting... but it just sucks seeing that number remain constant. Nice to know I'm in good company.

I feel your pain, try to hang in there! I'm just 4 weeks out from surgery and I keep hitting stalls. I've really only lost about 10 pounds since surgery, and I keep losing and regaining the same 4-5 pounds! I am following the prescribed diet to a T, so I'm just going to have to keep it up. I did got to my primary care doctor yesterday and he did some blood work, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news!
Hang in there, because slow and steady wins the race!

I'm just under 4 months post op and have not yet stalled I contribute my luck to my insane hydration levels I do. At a minimum I drink 120 ounces of water a day usually more I walk a hour a day for my main activity. I make sure I eat at least 90g of protein a day and try to stay under 100 carbs. I do not drink the protein that I track if I happen to have a boost shake I count it as liquid intake and count its carbs but not the protein. I hope this helps you contrast what you are doing versus what I am doing and maybe it will help you avoid stalls.

    Starting weight 328

Man, I wish I could drink that much water. I find when I drink plain old water it makes my sleeve "ache". I find that I can drink warm green tea. I try to get 3 20oz servings a day of that and then I figure between shakes, lo sodium V8, Core drinks I get there. Maybe I need to go hardcore plain water for a couple weeks and see what happens. Hard to do though.

Oh my liquid consumption is not all plain water, I flavor it with propel flavor packets.
