Default Maybe a bit TMI, but soooo gassy!

    Hi all,
I’m not sure if it’s the protein shakes or what, but since I started the pre-op diet and continuing now, I have had such killer gas. It seems like it occurs all day every day. No matter if I eat a protein shake, soup, yogurt, pudding, etc. And it’s not just gas; it’s a lot of belching and sometimes hiccups too. It just seems like my stomach is always rumbling. Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Is it something that will get better once I’m eating more solid foods? Right now, I am 3 1/2 weeks post-op. Thanks!

Lots of stomach noises are pretty normal. Are you taking something for stomach acid?
When I eat and my stomach starts to make noise, I know I am done. If I keep going I end up in 20 minutes of misery from over eating.

Oh yes. My stomach played it's own symphonies post op. It does get better. I do still get hiccups if I eat too much or too fast. In the beginning I had a lot of gas, though. Now not too bad.
