    Default Need Reassurance

This is a stupid question, I know. I know! But I need reassurance and coddling so that I won't be so darn frustrated.

Ok, surgery date 04/10/17. Going along just great! May 1st I started back on my Progesterone (hormone replacement) med that I didn't take in April due to surgery. I haven't lost anything since taking the Progesterone on Monday the 1st. I've actually gone up a few oz each day until now I'm about 1.5 lbs up. I take the Progesterone for the first 10 days each month and then get my cycle on or about the 13th. Is this just normal for every woman? Gaining (or stalling) the slight weight before her cycle and then dropping again? If so, I can deal with it, but I want to know it's coming. OR, being that I'm beginning my 5th week this coming Monday, is it possible I'm in the first stall?

So frustrating because I had just dropped below 200. I was 199.2 on Tuesday and now I'm at 200.6.

Thanks everyone! Have a wonderful weekend!

Cyclical water weight gain is normal for women who still have menstrual cycles. It is water weight gain, not fat gain.

I am due to start my period at the beginning of next week, so I have not been on the scale at any point during the past week. I do not bother weighing myself right before that time of month. In fact, I only weigh in once monthly, approximately a week after the first day of my cycle.

Also, you might be in the midst of the notorious "three week stall." You were sleeved 4/10 and stopped losing on 5/1, so that's approximately three weeks. Most sleevers experience the third week stall.

Anyhow, stay off the scale for the next few weeks. Your body is undergoing massive changes, but you will lose. Focus on meeting your goals for protein and hydration. Good luck to you!

Have a family member hide your scale for at least a month. You don't need it! You will lose weight, and fast, I promise. The scale just plays games with your head.

Totally normal to stall between weeks 3-5. And it makes everyone paranoid that they have somehow failed. The good news is you haven't. Just relax because that affects it as well. Also, take progress pics in bra and undies and measurements every other week. It will help you see that you are still getting smaller even when the scale is not showing any movement!

I was doing great for the 2 weeks after surgery. Losing losing losing...then it slowed to maybe .2 lb loss...and then nothing for days. Like you, I was worried. Maybe it was something I was doing, or not doing. Maybe I wasn't eating enough or too much.
Everyone here told me not to worry. Stop weighing every day. Easier said than done but I tried...and then just like EVERYONE told me, it started coming off again.
Listen, don't worry. Your body is adjusting. It will come off.

I am so glad I am not the only one. I keep worrying that I messed up my sleeve or I am eating too much. I had mine 4/12/17 and noticed last week I wasn't losing, My clothes do feel a little looser and my bras are becoming bigger (thank god), but I still worry.

I am feeling the same frustrations and worry right now too. I knew my cycle would affect things and had prepared myself for it. The scale stopped and went up slightly and then down a bit. But it has been done for over a week and the scale still isn't moving. I am so disapointed. I had really wanted to be down five more pounds from where I am by next weekend as I have a big family function and no one has seen me since my surgery. The way I was progressing I was sure I would be able to hit the 155 goal and now I know I won't. I know I should be happy with the weight I have lost but it is disappointing to not meet my goal and see the scale finally move a bit. Yesterday I was 159 and was happy to get into the 50's but today back up to 160. I know I need to get rid of the scale because it has become an obsession to me but I just can't seem to do it. It just helps to vent to people who I know are going through the same frustrations as when I tell my husband he just looks at me like I am crazy and doesn't see why 5 pounds are so important to me. I had set that goal because that is the lowest weight I have ever been since a teenager and I really wanted to be at that point again when I go back to my hometown and see all my family and friends.
