    Default I Ran...I Actually Ran!

I participated in a fun run with my family on Saturday. It was a 3K plus another mile between race stations (we had several marathons this weekend). I have never run in an event like this ever. I never thought I could...

I ran almost the whole thing without stopping! I felt amazing! I usually only do swimming and biking for my cardio so I was pretty nervous. Even though I had trained I still had that mindset of "for God sakes, don't start running! You'll break both your knees you chunky monkey!" I told that voice to take a long walk off a short pier and just started jogging slow, and before I realized it I was done! My knees didn't hurt, my legs weren't dead, I wasn't wheezing or panting. No spots in front of my eyes. Just some sweat, red cheeks, and shock over what I had achieved.

I loved the feeling so much I've decided to start training to do 5Ks and eventually 10Ks. My husband thought he was going to HATE running but after we were done he was surprised at how good he felt, so we've decided to train and run together as a hobby and non food treat!

I am so thankful for this body. Here is a pic of me before surgery, and a pic of me on the 3K day.

Your transformation is amazing. You look great. Congratulations!

As a side note, I have become addicted to running. The release of endorphins is awesome and the various benefits (weight management, heart health) cannot be beat. Also, running is free: all you need is time and good shoes. I went on a 5.8 mile run in my neighborhood early this morning and it was pleasant.

Way to go! I love running too and can't wait to get back to it after an injury.

Am I the only one that thinks these amazing before/after photos look like a person and their mother?? Somehow weight loss makes you look so much younger.

Way to go! And you look amazing by the way.

I'm just starting out on my journey but one of my goals is to do a 5k color run. I have always wanted to do one, but right now I get winded going down the stairs at work.

    Congratulations!

That's so cool!!! glad you enjoyed yourself and made it to the goal line!

I most likely won't be running anytime soon, but if I ever do I will probably close my eyes through it lol!

Wishing you continued successes and many more ribbons and medals!
