    Default Excited

Hello, I just scheduled my surgery and I am very excited to get started. My husband and I discussed this surgery 3 years ago but I never moved forward. Now, three years later I regret not moving ahead sooner. I have tried everything to lose weight without long term success. My weight has creeped up to 260 and I am in a size 18. I refuse to buy bigger clothes and at 50... I deserve to reclaim my life!

I am glad to have found this site. We have a large family but I am only sharing my upcoming surgery plans with my husband, adult son and daughter. My husband is going with me in July and again... I can't wait!

I hear you Gigi! My sister had the surgery 5 years before me but I kept thinking I could do it on my own. My only post op regret is that I did not do this sooner. Congrats on your decision!

I scheduled four intro seminars before I finally went and after going through the whole process, a week before surgery I started thinking I could do this on my own again. you start losing weight and being successful again and getting confident. Then I remember every diet I ever did that was initially great until I got lazy and over confident and gained everything back (and then some).

    Hie Greg
you are absolutely right about thinking I can do this on my own, a few days before things were being made worse by my work colleagues who kept saying how about you put your surgey date since you are doing so well. Luckily because I was getting funded by the NHS I was worried that if I change the date they might cancel me but so far so good

It is funny how others around you will try to talk you out of going forward with your plans. I have a couple of close girlfriends I would love to share this with but I know they would freak out. I plan to wait until things calm down post op and then I will fill them in. It is a lifetime of changes. People in my life will either have to accept me and my lifestyle changes or moooove on because it's my time.
