okay... so I see ur statistics.... sorry.... Im 47, 5'6" and also started a 254.... u will lose slower for various reasons.... but u will lose....
I've heard this story before in my support groups most of the people who tell this story also gained a lot of weight back do to never meeting their expectations and giving up. Please don't do that, having to high of expectations is dangerous in the weight loss battle. Your doing very good so keep it up.
I felt the same way last month (My surgery was 5 weeks ago today) and I was panicking that something was wrong because after the immediate drop coming out of the hospital, the following 2 weeks NOTHING came off. Everyone on here said to not worry, "the weight WILL come off." But I was skeptical. I stopped weighing myself for 4 or 5 days, bought a new scale and said I wouldn't weigh myself. But when the new scale came, I input the settings and weighed myself. And the pounds did start coming off. No two bodies are a like, that's for sure. I am struggling STILL with getting enough water in and I am NO WHERE near what you are consuming. Good for you, so soon out. I drank half my body weight in water for three months prior to surgery, but can't get in 16 oz on most days. (I do drink 22 oz of protein shakes that I have NO problem with, and some DIET cranberry juice with no problem.) It's water... and I KNOW I need that.
You're losing just fine, you have done great! The pounds will soon start coming off.

"If you can't laugh at yourself, life's going to seem a whole lot longer."
Okay... this is your one whining post about "slow weight loss!"
From here on, practice your self parenting skills or work with a therapist who can help you.
Concentrate on eating a nutrient rich diet, right now concentrate on protein first, drink plenty of fluids throughout the days, take your vitamins and all the meds your doctor prescribed if any, get 30-45 minutes of low impact exercise a day, like walking fast pace, get plenty of rest to recuperate the body, heart and mind.
If you continue to do those key things (which sounds like you are) the weight will come off eventually. Look at my signature graph, not to campare but to see that in one years time you will be much less than you are today. It is progess not perfection.
Stop your reasoning of a toddler in a toy store, wants everything everone has.
We have a lot of commonalities in this WLS journey, like the toddler reasoning, but the sooner you start seeing this as the "big picture" long term, or as a "marathon" instead of it as it a "sprint" the better off mentally, emotionally and physically you will be.
Best of wishes for continued healing.

"Today is another day to get it right!"
You guys are awesome on this page! So happy to have found you guys; you're all so encouraging
I am thinking of ditching my scale during my first couple months post op so I don't focus on how much or how fast. Just follow the plan, sip sip sip and walk!
I think you are doing great. Even the "being disappointed" part. It is all part of this journey. We all struggled with weight issues and self image issues. I think in our new journey we have to go through those stages and work through the issues so that long term you can deal with whatever stressful or anxiety causing issues that pop up. You may have just been having a little anxiety. I remember feeling that this surgery was working for everyone but me. I am about 4 moth out and have steadily lost weight but not compared to others. I had feared before the surgery I would be the one person it did not work for.. but it does work and you have to believe in this new life. You are doing great..give yourself a break!
You guys are awesome. I do feel much better and...a little embarrassed that I jumped to frustration so quickly. I stopped weighing myself every day and I I'm also looking at the big picture more.

Thank you all.
