Cool 2 months since surgery having complications

Hi I'm new to this community and would like to know if anyone has had really bad nausea and no appetite and vomiting since having surgery. I had my surgery on February 15th of this yr. I went threw all the stages of food I can now eat but I have terrible nausea even water makes me feel sick I can't eat from the nusea and there's day I vomit but haven't eating I'm loosing an average of 5 lbs a week. My doctor said this only happens to 1 our of 10 people. Having regrets now wishing I had not done the surgery I had health issues which is the reason I did it but now I've added on other issues to the health issues I already had. Worried I will never be able to eat

There is someone here who has posted extensively on the adverse side affects of vitamin deficiencies due to nausea and vomiting and lack of nutrients.

    Here is her link: https://www.gastricsleeve.com/forum/member.php?u=34427

I am also a huge advocate of equipping ourselves with post Sleeve Gastrectomy digestive and nutrient absorption knowledge.

I highly recommend you contact your post op surgical team. Besides them telling you it happens to 1/10... what are their recommendations or strategy to get you feeling well and eating? If they aren't providing it, get some serious medical help before it's too late.

    Your life depends on it.

I don't know what to say other than please see your doctor. I just had the surgery a month ago and am having trouble of getting water (more than 16 oz a day) in to me, and it does not taste that great. I can't eat much at a time (a tbs- 2 tbs) and it's not to great of a taste either. But I have about 4 months of STAGES to go thru. You're done pretty quick with yours (if I read the post correctly).I have only vomited a couple times by eating a hair over my 1 tbs of soup. I really try to NOT do that. Too painful.
I hope it gets better for you!

Definitely see your doctor. It is crucial that you are getting enough nutrients. If not you can become very, very ill. Do not take no for an answer. They need to find a way to get nutrients into you before it causes permanent damage.

Thank you all labs came back fine so I'm just not sure what else to do my doctor said it should pass. I'm gonna ask him to do a endoscopy to see what's going on.

I don't think you are to far off normal. For months after surgery, water had a metallic taste and food was completely different. you are 7 weeks post op. Your stomach is likely still a bit swollen and you are readjusting to the changes that have been made. Think on the positive changes you have made. Adjust your diet to things that you tolerate and over time on a slower path add in things to see if you can tolerate. You likely should not be eating heavy dense foods like beef or chicken and stick to turkey and fish with jellos and puddings. Switch from water to water with flavor packs or powerade zero. You can make adjustments if you haven't tried already.

I am not sure how bad you nausea is and I am not trying to minimize your issue. I would make sure the nutritionist and surgeon in your doctors office knows how you feel. They may have other suggestions or tests to see what the problems are. Follow up with them, it is in their best interests that you succeed and are happy.

Hi there and welcome to the forum! Did your doctor ever explain why this is happening? Perhaps you could contact another doctor and get a second opinion on how to deal with it all. I wish I had more knowledge and/or experience to directly address your predicament, but unfortunately I don't. I hope this passes soon so that you can continue your journey on a healthier, happy note. All the very best.
