There is for sure, for me anyway. I tried so hard to get in MORE water yesterday, but it didn't fly. I even made a nice cold glass of iced tea and I couldn't drink it. My taste buds have become fine tuned since surgery and I can SMELL and taste everything. I am having difficulties getting my medications and vitamins down but I do it. I never 'tasted' a flavor with them before but now it's there. My surgeon wants me on zinc for three months and I did one full month and not sure if I can do 2 more. I can't keep those down (liquid OR pill form).

It's going to take time but it's worth it so far: Surgery was March 24, 2017 and I lost 20 pounds this past month (April 24, 2017). 62 pounds total. I am not really hungry, but the good thing is that when I DO think about food and what I want to eat when I can eat, it's a piece of chicken breast and steamed asparagus or broccoli. And a cucumber salad! Nothing sweet, no cravings for that... just the foods I ate on my pre op diet.

    Highest Weight: 270 BMI 40.3
Day of Surgery Weight: 223 / Pre-Op nutrition diet: LOST 47 pounds
1 Month Weight: 202 (-21 lbs.) TOTAL LOST: 64 pounds
2 Month: Weight: 188 (-14 lbs.) TOTAL LOST: 78 pounds
    6 Month Weight: 169 (-2) BMI: 25.7 TOTAL LOST: 97 pounds

You have no idea how good your post has made me feel. I'm so TERRIFIED of not getting enough water after surgery. I get dehydration headaches like mad (I like in Arizona) so I've even been thinking of setting myself up with a hydration clinic just in case! omg the idea that I might be able to drink a mouthful of water 30 days after surgery is awesome. thank you!

The same thing happens to me. LOL!

Hmmm...maybe others don't share my experiences but it happens to me all the time. Now, it's a bit easier...the other night though, I ended up with a mouth full of crystal light because I was really thirsty, spaced out and gulped too much. It burped back into my mouth, then slowly drained into the sleeve. Weird...
