My two main concern!! How did you address??
Have you had WLS ? I went to counseling for 2 years before my sleeve surgery and I know attend a support group and follow up twice a year with my psychiatrist. I love my new life and getting healthy but if I take this to the other side thats also unhealthy and I did this to be healthy first. I work out with cardio and lift weights, hike and cycle with groups I joined.
I'm not concerned with sagging skin. I don't have any signs of it except my boobs but that started after breastfeeding. Plan to get surgery after I loose all my weight. So far other areas aren't being affected. loosing all extra baggage lol. I was under 300 an don't have hereditary issues with that. My doctor said if your under 300 chances low of getting loose skin. Good luck with your journey
I can say that I used to eat like a linebacker and would eat even when not hungry. I was also an emotional eater. Since surgery, I have found that I really don't have cravings like I did pre op. I do eat low carb and I know that helps me to avoid cravings. I have taken the rules of my post op lifestyle and follow them. Whenever I start getting urges to revert back to old eating habits I look at how far I have come. I go for a walk instead. Or have a popsicle.
As for loose skin. I do have some. Nothing major or that I can't live with at this point. I am 4'11" and have lost 76 pounds between the pre and post op. And I am almost 44 so I also have age working against me. But I exercise and eat healthy. I am losing the weight at a steady pace and I think that also has minimized the saggy skin. Some people do need skin removal surgery post op. I think that genetics plays a lot in that.
