Just wondering, was it bad going #2 after the surgery? I had breast reduction back when I was 24 and the pain meds bound me right up. I NEVER want to experience that again, it was worse than labor! lol Any input would be welcomed.
Thanks,
Jenn
Uummm... how do I put this... YES! But, with plenty of fluids and an occasional laxative you'll be fine. Also, note that you won't have much waste because you're not consuming that much. The every day special moment will probably happen every 2 to 3 or more days, depending on your system. Try to stay as relaxed as possible, it will help the "process".
I was sleeved two years ago this month. I had chronic constipation for the first 8 months post-op and passed rock-hard stools (yeah, that was probably too much information, LOL!). I had to take stool softeners and Dulcolax on a routine basis just to have a BM once every three days.
For the past year I have been regular. Constipation has not been a problem for me in a long time. Just stay hydrated and, if possible, add more fiber to your diet as you can tolerate it.

You may have had a reaction to the anesthesia that caused your digestive tract to shut down post surgery. Mention it to the doctors and they can give you things to move along the process. I personally, got an Ileus after surgery for that exact reason which required a 5-day re-hospitalization for dehydration. Don't let it get out of control and you will be OK.
I'm tenish months post op, and have been regular since about 5 or six months post op (can't remember).
I started using Organic Triple Fiber and it was a miracle for me after trying everything on the market including squatting stool and abdominal massages and a colonic.
I go regularly every morning on the clock.

"Today is another day to get it right!"
I was regular before surgery. After surgery omg. I never used a suppository in my life, until after surgery. The first two months were a real struggle. Now I seem to be ok with adding fiber to my water. Although Its a struggle to know if I should add it twice a day or if once is enough. I haven't found the magic amount yet.
This is my issue NOW! For the life of me, I haven't strained so much in all my living days. I gave birth 3 times and I swear, I push MORE now than giving birth to those daughters. And I don't understand HOW I can even have the urge to 'GO', because I don't take that much IN. I have upped my magnesium pills at bedtime to FOUR! I said I was going to pick up the Miralax, and haven't... my fault. (My husband does drink Metamucil... maybe I'll give that a whirl.) I sure hope something changes quick because I am wound up tighter than thread on a bobbin.

I was told to not use Metamucil. That is really only fiber. The Miralax draws water into your small intestine and softens the stool hence making it easier to pass. Similar to magnesium citrate but not as violent. I take it every night and keeps me regular with my morning routine with S'ing, S'ing AND S'ing! Lol..
