Just wanted to say Hi and share my journey so far. I posted an introduction a while back, but I have more to say now.

I started researching in early February and at that point I weighed about 335 pounds, once I decided to do this I proceeded to eat like an idiot for nearly a few weeks and ended up at 345 pounds! But I feel like I got all my food funerals out of the way.

I started a self-imposed low carb Ketogenic type diet starting on March 10th to help me ease into the prospect of doing the pre-op diet. I even started having protein shakes for breakfast on April 1st to help even more and because I was sick of eggs.

I cut out my dear sweet loving diet sodas on April 1st too. I fell off that wagon a couple times since, but I just jump right back on.

I've managed to lose 15 pounds so far doing this.

I'm only scheduled for a 5 day preop diet, but started it 5 days early. I'm calling it my Pre-Pre-Op diet. I'm doing something almost exactly like my pre-op but instead of just one meal of lean meat, I am having one "normal" low-carb meal for these five days and nuts and veggies for snacks.

Hopefully this will make the "official" pre-op diet that starts on 4/14 so much easier.

I'm almost completely packed, except for things I need to use up until the day I leave.

Can't wait to join the loser's bench!

Wow! When you made up your mind, you didn't let grass grow under your feet. Congratulations and best wishes for an easy and speedy recovery, and a successful pre-op diet. (and of course, a most successful post-op diet!)

Super excited for you. I had a lot of food funerals before my surgery. A lot of people tell you not to do it, but honestly it really helped me. I don't even eat those foods anymore no crave them. I was in a program from June of 2016 until August and it wasn't until 13 days before surgery that I went from 288 to 272. Something just clicked and the weight started coming off. The countdown begins!!

Congratulations on the weight loss on your Pre-Pre-Op diet!!! Lol. I am currently doing the same thing. I started my "diet" last week and have lost 15 pounds so far. My surgery is scheduled for May 9th. I really didn't want to throw my body into shock when I suddenly started eating healthy, thought I would kind of ease into it. It actually hasn't been too bad. Looking forward to the results after surgery but not so much the surgery itself. Good luck on the surgery if I don't say something to you before then!!

Great job Amber! I can tell you I was ADDICTED to Diet Dr. Pepper. I gave it up during pre op. After months of not having it, I had tried it again. I can tell you it was absolutely disgusting. I seriously thought it tasted like pure shit. Just gross. No urge to drink it anymore. I am sure you will get there, too!

Congratulations Amber your doing fantastic and to loose 15 pounds already on you pre pre pre op diet,lol love thatby the way. Your going to do good on your post op diet. You found determination and took control that's awesome. You have a lot to be proud of and you haven't had surgery yet. Your almost there my friend and before you know it youll be joining our Looser's Club. lol Praying you have a good trip and successful surgery. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer. If you have someone going with you there is an authentic taco truck across from the hotel that my husband couldn't get enough of. Only a dollar a piece. The area around the hotel and hospital is real nice and safe to walk all around. My group went shopping on day two post op. our driver was so nice to take us, couple people went to the ocean. Oh, I love taco trucks, but I'm going alone so I won't have to worry about the temptation. I am certainly determined to make this sleeve work for me and finally get to a health weight. I'm miserable right now and I hate it.
