    Default Always cold

Has anyone else noticed that since their surgery they are always cold? I was always hot before but since my surgery I am always freezing. I actually think that is why I have a hard time getting my water in. I can only handle water if it is cold and since my surgery my hands are like ice that I don't even want to hold my cold water bottle. My brother-in-law who had this surgery a few years ago warned me that I would always be cold but I didn't believe him because I was always hot and would run my air conditioner even in the winter. Just wondering if anyone else struggles with this? I can't wait for summer to be warm again!

Cold intolerance is very common. I am freezing all the time. I still wear sweaters in 75 degree weather.

I was very cold at first but now my body is going back to normal. I normally run hot and it's coming back. In the past, I've only been cold when I'm sick. BUT, I've noticed that I don't get as hot as I once did.

My wife always called me her personal heater. In bed, I could warm up the entire bed and she would snuggle when she was cold. Now, I am always cold. My hands have been like ice for the last 5 months. Last week in the office, I actually put on my gloves-inside. This winter, I used the seat heaters in my car for the first time EVER. And most mornings, I had to wear a hat while driving to work. The comforter and blankets have been my friends when I used to sleep under just a sheet most of the year. Might be time to move to Florida or Texas.

ALWAYS! I'm snuggled under my blankets right now. I do look so foward to our sweltering Alabama summers now where I used to loathe them.

I do not go anywhere without having a sweatshirt hoodie or the like. I am always cold and I was like you pre op....always hot. I found that I can tolerate warm and room temperature fluids better. Maybe that will help you?

Similar here. I was always warm, shorts in winter, no covers when sleeping, etc, etc. Now I am always cold. It was 88 yesterday and I was comfortable, but far from warm/hot.... I wear under armor heat gear longjohn under my clothes daily... Rare to see me without a hat on. It is/was a huge adjustment but I'll take it!

Strange that no one warned me but I am cold too. I had my surgery 10/2016 and I was always hot before. Even as I child I was hot. Now I am FREEZING all the time. I wrap up in a sweater shawl while at work. It is annoying. I don't know what I will do when they turn
    the AC on this season.

Fat was good insulation! Without it you'll be colder. I never go anywhere without my "air conditioning" sweater, wouldn't be comfortable in a restaurant, movie theater, grocery store, etc without it, especially when it starts to get really hot/humid outside.

In the winter I have a nice collection of down vests that go with everything, and are even worn indoors.
