    Default Got my Neck Back!

So thrilled, after 65 days, to finally be out of my cervical collar after breaking my C2 vertebrae after falling down my stairs. The doctor says it's "almost healed," just to use common sense with my activities. So I won't be riding the roller coasters on our school trip next month, but I can get back to my walking/hiking. No running. I'm walking around the house feeling so strange, but my head hasn't fallen off (like hubby told my grandkids would happen). Now I have 3 pounds to lose after being a couch potato for 65 days. (Snuck just a few walks in, but was told no exercise.) I really miss my woods, so will be there tomorrow after school. Today I'm going to get used to this weird feeling of being "free."

I know how you feel, dear lady. I had my C3, C4, C5 removed and replaced with donor bone and metal. I had a lovely collection of 3 braces. LOL. It's great to be free, isn't it! I'm so glad for you and I hope your recovery continues smoothly. Get neck massages from friends, family, and massage therapists, it really helps.

I was so sore today! I don't have much range of motion at all, and I feel like Rice Crispies, I snap, crackle and pop! The neck massages sound wonderful!

I was surprised my doctor didn't recommend physical therapy, as I'm not sure how much to push it. I may call tomorrow with questions. My brain surgeon is a man of few words.
