Default Im in that "3rd week stall"

Kind of frustrated, scale has been stuck for about 10 days now. I lost 24 lbs in the first 2 weeks after surgery and it hasn't changed much in the last 10 days. I only consume 500-600 cals most days and I even started walking since my energy levels are coming back. ~11000 steps last few days and no difference. Its remarkable that the body can stall weight loss when eating so little and moving. Its tough because I am right at 299-300 and was looking forward to getting the 300 number gone forever.

Don't get down I would suggest taking measurements of different areas of your body I'm pretty sure if you had baselines to go by you would notice inches leaving even though pounds themselves haven't. If for some reason neither one is moving I would look at my protein intake and hydration levels to make sure they are high enough. Your doing great though.

I don't think 500-600 is enough, I am trying to get at least 1000 per day. Are you pacing out your meals? Suggest speaking with your nutritionist. If like me your food options probably changed week 3, I noticed a little stall as well and then BOOM another 16 pounds fell right off in week 4-5. I go in for my 6 week post op doc visit tomorrow and officially weigh in.

Check your protein levels. If you are not getting enough no matter the calorie levels. You will not lose weight if your protein levels are to low. Your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto everything. Next, your DNA is fighting you to begin with-your DNA wants to maintain your weight during times of drought and famine to protect the species. Sometimes, you will have times were you just don't lose weight.

The cure for these is to increase your protein levels to trick the body into losing fat and building muscle. When you are building good muscle, your resting metabolic rate increases and you burn even more just by existing with more muscle. Stay the course and consume better protein.

It happens to us all. Don't get discouraged. It's your body's way or saying "really? are we doing this" and trying to hold on. When you continue, it will start back.

I feel your pain! I had surgery 5 and a half weeks ago and in the last 2-3 weeks I've only lost 4 lbs. I'm doing everything I've been doing since day 1...I don't get it. I feel like it should be moving because I have drastically changed my entire life.

I too feel your pain. I had my surgery one day prior to you and lost the exact same amount of weight in that time period and suddenly the scale has not moved a pound this week. It is frustrating and I know others say it is normal but it is hard not to panic.

I think every sleever has had a LEAST one stall...generally between weeks 3 and 5. Most will experience more than one over their weight loss journey. It is normal. The first one is the hardest...because it happens so early on and we are thinking we have somehow failed. We get that pessimism that we just knew it would not work for us. The best things to do is to relax (stress can derail us), protein, water, and move. Remember to take progress pictures and measurements. Good luck!

This is me. I haven't lost any weight for over 2 weeks and it's driving me insane. I'm like what the hell did I go through all this surgery, pre op dieting for nothing. I hope this breaks soon as it is VERY disheartening

    Keep up the great work!

Just keep doing what you're doing, you'll be fine. By the way, I was told never to count calories, just protein and liquid. Are you getting in all your protein and liquid?

Well... if I'm truthful I REALLY struggle to get all my fluids in. I certainly do not drink 1L of fluids when all that I drink is added up. I get most of my protein in 2'protien drinks and a bit of food but I know it's not enough. Plus since my surgery I've only opened my bowels 6 times in 3 weeks. I'm probably full of poop and that's where the weight is, lol. The hospital said I need to take a laxative to get things moving - let's take it from there.

It will definitely pass!!! Don't get discouraged! Everyone goes through a stall that starts between weeks 3 and 5. And I think we all feel like we are going to fail because of this...but you won't. You will start losing again!
