Default I'm scared of going through surgery again.

My husband said in a year and a half, two years, he wants me to get the tummy tuck, breast reduction. But I don't know if I can go through anesthesia again. Granted, I'm only 4 days out from my sleeve, and still feel like a pot hole in the road, but it frightens the Hell out of me. Each surgery I have does get nastier , anesthesia-wise, each time.

As a surgery lay person I am wondering if there is a different type of anesthesia they could use.

At the end of the day.... it's how YOU feel. You might not want to now but maybe later you will want to do it.

He's not going through it. Surgery is a lot of work. I hope you make the best decision based on what you want.

I was always anti plastic surgery. I'd tell him I would be thrilled just to lose all the weight and wear spanx (LOL), but he has heard me ragging about my boobs that hang to the gutter for decades, and also my mid section, and he feels that it's something I really want. I do... but... I'm going to play it by ear. I'm a wuss!

I agree with all the above statements. When you loose all your weight you can see how you feel then, Sounds like he's being like my husband, Just wanting to make you happy and show his full support in all areas he's heard you be upset or want to change. I've always wanted to get rid of my sagging boobs, I had my baby at 21 and breastfeed her and that destroyed them and with all the up and down weight hasn't made them any better.lol.I have a whole thats sealed but looks awful from a feeding tube some years ago too that my husband mentioned fixing as well. I'd love to fix them but nervous and will decide when I reach all my goals. In they end you have the power to say yes or no!!

I wouldn't mind if my wife wanted her boobs done she hasn't even had surgery but if she asked I'd give it 2 thumbs up. As far as myself I'm sure I'll have something done either my deviated septum so I can lose my CPAP or a little nip n tuck after my weight is all off.

I guess you'll have to either keep your body woes to yourself or talk to the hubby about the seriousness of your concerns.

I am on the fense about reconstructive surgery, if I had the time and money. I'd do it yesterday. Lol!

It is going to depend on how much hangy skin you have. I am really starting to look at my thighs and wish for a lift. I don't know though because the procedure is supposed to be one of the most painful and have the longest recovery. Ugh. I really love the look when I pull them up with my hands. So.....we will see if I do it or not. Ultimately it is up to you and how you feel. If your skin isn't too loose then you may not want it. I see my boobs as super saggy now, too. But they look fine in a bra. So not sure I care about those. The thighs though......

I read someone here post about having multiple bidy lift procedures a few months post op. She had done research and sounded like surgeon recommended doung fat transfer to her buttocks sooner instead of later as fat would be gone in a year or two from weight loss.

If I had resources I'd have fat transfer asap as my butt has been the first to go! As a Latina it's part of my identity lol!!!

Anesthesia makes me really sick too. And it scares the hell out off my husband because I had so many issues, so for sure he is not the one pushing for more surgery.

Anyway, when my abdominal muscle issue was at it's pic in July he came with me to meet one of the plastic surgeon. When he heard it was a 4 hours surgery he turned green. I was feeling sick too. That surgery does have higher risks than any other plastic surgery procedure. Because it's really long but also because it's a large incision, so more risks for infections.

Right now I'm really not sure what I will decide. It's not a money issue (my insurance will cover tummy tuck and arm lift) and my tummy tuck is needed because my muscles did separate with all the pregnancies and at some point of my weight loss I had to wear different types of compression garment, the pain was really bad just with moving. But it's almost back to normal today.

I'm going to consult a plastic surgeon again in a few weeks, because anyway since I still haven't reached "my goal weight" I want his opinion to know what he can do at that stage regarding my abdominal muscle issue, but we will start first with the tumor removal which is the most urgent so far.

But for sure I won't schedule a date for the tummy tuck right now.. I just want to know what my options are...

Granted Plastic surgery is risky, dangerous, and painful but so is everything else a woman goes through to maintain beauty. You're lucky you have a husband who supports and encourages you. Granted the final decision is yours and only yours. When my husband was alive I wanted a full mommy makeover and he was always complaining about the money. I'm close to 60 now and plan on doing a full mommy makeover little by little. For my own benefit now. Not his.

I've seen the thigh lifts on "Skin Tight" and it looks painful. Heck, it ALL seems painful to me. I was with my sister for her TT, boob job, and liposuction on front and back of legs/butt/ thighs, all in one day. And that was painful for her. (Too much work in one afternoon.!)

That's a little crazy, you don't even know if you'll need a tummy tuck or breast reduction. (My breasts were very reduced as I lost weight!!)

Plus we have had plastic surgeons talk many times at support group, and all of them say no plastic surgery until you have been at your goal weight for one year.

Plus it's your body, not his. Do whatever you want. The tummy tuck would scare me to death because they slice you hip to hip. The pain, risk of infection, etc. made me say no way. My tummy looks flat in clothes, so I'm good.
