Welcome Regina. This place is a great resource if you have any questions. It has been very helpful to me. There are also many people here who are encouraging during those weak and vulnerable moments. Look forward to hearing about your progression through the process. My surgery is scheduled for April 5th.

Hi Regina, Get ready for a fun ride. I'm no longer a diabetic and off a total of 4meds. Hope to get off my Bi-pap and oxygen machines nexted. Sounds like your ready to make necessary changes. As you know the sleeve is just a tool and you still have to do the work. The difference is if you do the work the results are faster after the sleeve. Welcome and don't neglect the better mental state it will give you as well. Losing weight has more then just thr physical effect on you and I think some people over look that part.

While I did lose all my weight, I never got off my cholesterol meds, runs in my family, nothing to do with weight or diet. (I did try without them for three months after surgery, and the numbers went sky high.) But most diabetics see a great improvement! Best of luck to you.

Thank you all for welcoming me this will be so nice to be able to talk to someone who understands and doesn't act like I am being stupid about wanting to have this surgery so I can get off the meds and feel better

your definitely NOT stupid Regina for wanting this surgery. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for doing something that may save your life and most definitely will give you a better quality of life as long has your ready to do the work.

I am just getting started too. And High cholesterol runs in my family as well :/ Though I am sure losing the weight will help, I am well aware I will probably have to take meds for the rest of my life. I am ok with that though. Good luck in your journey!

I am so glad that I joined this site I have loved being able to see others that have and will be having the sleeve surgery also thank you all for sharing your life with me and I am so proud for each of you it makes me feel like I can do what I need to get healthier thank each of you��
