That is a strict pre op diet! For two weeks I was allowed broth, SF jello and SF popsicles. One meal a day I was allowed a lean protein and steamed vegetable. It was very doable and I lost 18 pounds during that time. It's unbelievable how requirements differ between surgeons and/or surgery centers. Best of luck to you!

Keep up the great work, I know this can be a tough time but your almost to the finish line of your old life and will start your journey to a new one soon. Take it easy and try to rest in between task if your not feeling well. Great Job sticking with this, now you can accomplish anything keep us posted on how your doing after surgery.

You have one of the roughest pre op diets I've ever seen. Are you allowed to sip broth all day ? Although I'd worry about being sick of it by the time you have surgery? You are doing great! And you're going to contnue to rock this! I'm a total follow the rules person too so part of me gets it. It's just mind blowing to me that some dr's have a super strict pre op and I was allowed to eat until 1pm the day before surgery.

I've been using my fitness pal now for 3 months and have even been logging in these gag-inducing Isopure drinks, and I'm only having something like 240 calories a day. 12 pounds gone since last Wednesday...I know why!
Wow! 12 pounds in one week! That's amazing! It's down to the wire now, two days to go. You're gonna do great, I can just feel it.

I figured that because the shakes aren't clear, somehow they would do something during surgery? As if something is going to jump out and say "Hey Doc... this one here cheated." But I have to drink the magnesium Citrate thursday so anything in there will be long gone. Maybe I will drink my shakes... I stocked up at Sam's Club.
My dietician gave us a recipe to make our jello and pudding high protein.

    For jello (4 serving pkg):
Follow pkg instructions for dissolving sugar free jello in boiling water
    Cool for 3-5 min
In a different bowl measure 1 c cold water
Add 2 scoops unflavored protein powder (I use Unjury), 1 scoop at a time stirring slowly to dissolve
Stir the protein powder mix into the dissolved jello
Chill quickly--the protein will settle somewhat to create a cloud at the bottom
Protein: 20 grams per 1 cup of Jello

For Pudding (use instant--not cooked) 4 serving pkg:
measure 2 cups fat free milk per package instructions
add 2 scoops unflavored protein powder to the 2 cups of milk
    mix thoroughly
    add pudding packet
    mix and chill
Protein: each 1/2 c serving has 14 grams

I've only used the Unjury unflavored and it's great. I don't taste much of a difference, if any, from regular jello or pudding.

    Hope this helps!
