    Smile Excited and Scared 🙈

Hi Everyone, today I booked my gastric sleeve opp. It will be in 13 day's on the 27 of March. My husband asked me today if I really want to do it. Of course I said yes, but in the back of my mind there's this voice asking if it's the right thing to do?

I would like to hear your experience and maybe get in contact with some of you that's having it done in the same time, the support would be great 

Definitely do it! It is so worth it! Granted, it is difficult at first, but it has been less than 3 months for me and I've already lost 51lbs!

Ultimately you have to look in side yourself and make this decision. Have you researched the surgery? How successful have you been with losing and keeping weight off? I am assuming not very if you are even considering the surgery. For me I only regretted waiting so long to do it. I am so glad I did this and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It is difficult in the beginning. But the long term benefits are very worth it. Had my health assessment at work today and I rocked all my numbers except my BMI which is still 27 so technically overweight but a big improvement over the 41 I used to be.

This is a literal life saver for me. Six months out down 105 lbs dropped 12 out of 14 pills including most cholesterol and high blood pressure meds. Find a good local support group and attend meetings. You will make friends and learn from their experiences.

I'm having surgery next Thursday 3/23 or 24th. I'll find out tomorrow morning at my last meeting at the surgeon's office. I'm nervous, excited, scared, hopeful, but I know I need to do this. I haven't slept good in months, waking up with anxiety. More over the actual surgery itself and pain/recovery. I'm looking forward to the new, me lacking my high bp/cholesterol meds I take for all this extra weight. Best of luck on your surgery!

Don't fret, you will do fine. Last minute advice-take some very unflattering pictures before surgery and take a small pillow to the hospital with you that you can use to hold your stomach when you sit stand and rollover plus for coughing and sneezing to brace your muscles.

Hi, I'm having my surgery done on 3/22/17, next week. I'm nervous and doubting and doing all kinds of prep work. Also, I worrying, fretting, reading forum entries, reading self-help books on binge eating, trying not to binge, and reading randy fanfic. I'm trying not to read any horror stories of post-op issues here in the forum, but I still steal a peak. I'm going through with the surgery, though I'm scared. I feel like I really don't have a choice, I want to be healthy and that's my end game.

Sorry about the "real" talk, but it's where I am right now. I hate this stage and would love for it to be over with.

Hey, ignore me and rantings - be brave and do it. You won't be alone. This is a great forum with lots of support and knowledge. All the best.
