I was tired for a good 10 days after surgery took a lot of naps. After the 2 weeks recovery mark I found a quick and very notable boost i my energy levels which led directly to being able to take in more calories. I am glad to hear you are recovering well and wish you the best.

I have issues with anesthesia as well. I informed both my surgeon and anesthesiologist of this prior to surgery. Whatever they did I only had some nausea immediately post op...and I thought the same thing....oh my God what have I done...kill me now. But it passed and whatever anti nausea they were giving me did the trick. I hope you are doing better now and loving your new sleeve!

I had terrible nausea & vomiting for 4 days after surgery. The last day, when I had to fly back home, it was better. Didn't feel great still but at least I wasn't so ill. I had trouble walking as much as I should have, because I was so sick that, unless it was less than half an hour since the last one - I would have had to walk around the hotel with my emesis basin.
Not a big surprise though, routinely I get this sick with anesthesia or even conscious sedation.

Now I am 19 days out. I was extremely discouraged a week ago because I'd lost NO weight since week one. That's just insane. I'm staying off the scale, but I think I lost again when I started eating MORE and every two hours. Even if it was just a couple of bites of salmon or tuna, I tried to get some protein in regularly. I have had zero issues adding any kind/type/texture food. So glad I don't have the problems with scrambled egg that some have had! I am taking my doctor's assistant's(also a 1+ year out sleeve patient) advice and trying to eat protein first thing in the morning -- which is when I have the egg or triple zero greek yogurt. Hunger started to return a few days ago. Nothing overwhelming, but I forgot to eat yesterday before leaving the house (I had to be away most of the day). (And yes, isn't THAT a new experience?! People who used to tell me they forget to eat were in my "special place in hell" category.) When I got home, I fixed a package of tuna (2.6 oz) with a bit of mayo, lemon and dill. I ate it too fast because I was too hungry. DON'T EVER DO THAT! I won't do it again, that's for sure. Not pleasant. A good pavlov's dog training for me!

No nausea for me, but I also have VERY loud noises coming from my stomach. It's funny to me now, but it will be interesting when I go back to work in a few days.

The stomach noises scare my cats! They can be sound asleep on my lap and they suddenly sit up and stare at me, apparently wondering if some alien is going to erupt from my gut.
And while I'm bitching, I'm tired of people asking me "I'll bet you feel better" (meaning having lost a significant amount of weight). I've never had health issues like bad back or knees or hips, so no, I DON'T feel better. I only feel better fitting into smaller clothes. I felt fine at 274. I feel fine now. Just lighter. Stop asking me that question! (Just complaining again. don't mind me.)

    I feel ya!

I get "you're so beautiful!" Or "you must be so proud!" The second one doesn't bother me as much as the first comment! Because I was always beautiful and interesting and witty and all kinds of cool runnings lol! (I dance to my own tooting). They just didn't see me.

I'm sorry to hear you have been so sick. I had surgery on the 25th. I had to stay 2 nights at the hospital as well, but that was my DR. who wanted to make sure everything was ok before sending me home. I was very nauseous the first day. The anesthesia made me very sick, and so did the liquid morphine. It seems like every time I would feel ok, the pain would come back and the nurse would give me the morphine through the IV and I would get sick again. Thankfully this was only the first day. The second day in the hospital was a lot better. I had switched to the Vicodin pill form and was up and walking a lot more. The only problem I had and still have is swallowing. It hurts to have cold fluids reach my stomach. As soon as I swallow my shake or water I brace myself for the pain when it gets to my stomach. Hot liquids seem to settle better. I still have some pain 5 days later but I went from taking 2 Vicodin down to 1 and I am taking is less and less every day. I have been up and walking a lot more now that I am home. Thankfully its been nice outside so I have been able to go outside and walk around too. I am worried that I am not going to get enough water in because right now I can only do sips. Has anyone else had that problem?

I was (and am) constantly bitched at about not getting enough water. Sorry, but I have ALWAYS been "dehydrated" (according to the charts) because I have the audacity to drink, like, ONLY WHEN I'M THIRSTY. I do think it's important to have some kind of liquid nearly constantly at first because you're not getting any moisture from food. I never had any stomach pain -- I also don't like cold liquids (never have). The counselor/office manager at my doc's office (also a sleeve patient) sips hot water all day because she can do that more than cold! I started drinking hot water with a little of the Torani sugar free syrups. It's actually quite good! At first, I was doing fruit herbal teas, but the Torani tastes even better and without tea. I don't DISlike tea...it's just if I don't need it, it's better (and cheaper).
