I have a surgery date and am going through with it!

I decided to have the gastric sleeve! My surgery date is June 14th. I am so excited and also terrified even though I know I need it. How did the rest of you feel? Any advice or words of wisdom to calm my nerves? It was made official today. I look forward to sharing my journey and offer words of encouragement to others as I progress in this process. Thankss to all have replied to my previous posts.

Congrats on having a surgery date. I was a little scared but mostly excited. Just keep reading up on the surgery and make sure you are very informed on everything. Being prepared is the best advice I can give.

I was a little anxious to get it done already! I had butterflies everytime I thought about it. I was super excited to finally meet the leaner and healthier me! I am seeing more of her these days!

I think you made the right decision.
I felt really happy when I made the decision, and was reading a lot about the sleeve. There's good books on Amazon, and Kindle unlimited has lots of great books to read for "free". I watched lots of videos too (Dr. Matthew Weiner and Endobariatric/Dr A).
I tried a few protein powder but don't stock up your taste might change post-op.
I started to take more vitamins so my level would be optimum for the surgery (usually you will be asked to stop taking supplements one week or ten days before surgery).
Around two months before surgery I started my own diet to help with my big fatty liver. I also tried to walk more each day to have more stamina, and drink more water/green tea to help get rid of the toxins.
Around two weeks before surgery (when starting the doc's preo-op diet) I started to be stressed out and sleepless, I tried to walk more to be more tired and sleep better...but every night I would picture a smaller version of myself, living with less pain and that worked actually the best to calm me down.

Congrats.

I was nervous and excited at the same time. I knew going through surgery wouldn't be fun, but long term it was something I had to do.

It's been a little over 3 weeks and I feel great and I'm glad I went through with it. Every time I step on the scale I'm losing weight.

I know it can be scary, but this is going to change your life for good.
