Hi all,
Newbie here. I've just started the process to be considered for a sleeve. I attended a seminar with Mercy Weightloss Solutions and am waiting for a call back. Although I initially signed up for help with a diet, the more research I do the more I feel as if going ahead with a sleeve is a better long term option. I have tried every diet under the sun, and never manage to lose much. With certain medications I'm on I continue to pack on weight and it's very frustrating knowing that the only way to get it off is to starve myself and not have an enjoyable life, and then will likely gain it all back anyway. I'm unwilling to go to crazy extremes to lose weight, I know it's not healthy and not sustainable. I do feel that I have educated myself immensely in weightloss and health, so knowing that if I do what I'm supposed to do with a sleeve I'll see results, will help me be disciplined and consistent. I joined this forum to further my research and to also see if anyone else out there had a lower starting BMI as I'd like to hear their feedback. I'm at a 35 BMI and my insurance requires comorbidities. I have no serious life threatening ones, but the past two years have came back with pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, anemia and high BP. I have a family history of heart issues on both sides and diabetes on my dad's side. I also had gestational diabetes. But I've decided that even if insurance won't cover the procedure I'm doing it anyway. Mercy has an excellent program with lifetime involvement, I feel like why wait until I get to a point where my health starts to seriously fail, it's a preemptive measure.
