    Thumbs up Got Sleeved 3/2/2017

Feeling a lot of gas pains. And down 12 lbs since March 2ND. The crew with Dr. Almanzas group was very accommodating. All the way from Oscar the driver to Carlos the bell man at the hotel and Sergio and Nursing staff at the post-op facilities.

    So far so good!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your surgery!
Gas pain should be gone around day 8. Try to walk several times per day and sip water as much as possible, it will help.
Best wishes for an easy recovery!
    Take care.

I had same surgeon 6 weeks ago and I'm doing good. Having a lot of success. I really like Dr Almanza and his team, the care I received was top notch. The hospital was nice and clean. The nurses were all great and all were happy and seem to enjoy their work. That was refreshing. I've spent a lot of days and months in the hospital and haven't always found that here in the states. I also enjoyed the hotel and hotel staff. They all were great and made me feel at home. There was a great nursing staff at the hotel too. I'd have this surgery again in a heartbeat : ) I wish you continued success. Keep following the post up instructions and you should continue to do well and have success. Also if you haven't watched any of Ask Dr Alvarez shows, I've found them helpful. His extra shows can be found on you-tube. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Walking really helped me and sublingual gas-x. I'd rest a minute and walk, repeat. Heating pad can help too

Thanks everyone! I've been busy with school. I am so thankful for the encouragement on here and it is so motivating to read the success everyone has had! It is so worth it! Today a little nauseous and still have a hard time getting fluids down. But I can see the increase by today. On day 5 slight nausea with a little pain. And down 13lbs. I'll try to track my progress often. ❤❤

Do you know what a reasonable amount of water/fluids is good to intake? In the first week? I feel like I'm not meeting the minimum. But it might just be me? Thanks. :-)

The minimum is supposed to be 64 oz but I was never able to drink that until may be month 3.
Drink as much as possible, it won't hurt you. But only sip sip sip. No gulp! You will need to watch your quantities only when it's time for food. 1/2 cup no more per sitting, and for several months.Take care

This forum has help a tons with my nerves. I am 2 days away from my surgery and my family is concerned because of the negative articles online about Dr. Almanza. Their concerns are driving my nerves high. I find relief in this conversation but I cannot deny i'm worried.Did anyone else go through this ?

Also-I will be traveling with a family member.
I've lost 15 ibs on the pre op diet.

Well, I'm over a month post-op since my March 2nd surgery. I'm down to around 191 since my day of surgery weight which was 228. It has been rough for the last few weeks. I've had horrible nausea and have not been able to eat or drink much at all. It all seems to have happened in week 3. I've made it to the Dr. and to the ER to no avail. It's very difficult finding a doctor that will take you serious once you say you had your surgery in Mexico.
Anyhow, I've been very ill and suspect either a ulcer or/stricture along with some major GERD issues. All issues I think anyone who is considering the surgery should take into consideration. Also, about follow-ups after leaving Mexico.
I'm sure I will get better but it has been rough! And I envy those with an appetite! Cause I have absolutely no appetite. And I'm in week 5. I will give myself 1 more week to try to heal up and take these medications then move on to whatever step is next.
I really hope that I don't end up regretting this surgery.

Have you reached out to your surgeon. I understand from others that he does offer pretty good follow up contacts. As far as your symptoms go I can be of no help to you as I haven't had anything like you speak of. I wish you the best and hope you recover soon.
