    Thumbs down Way off track

Been out of gastric sleeve almost 8 yrs.--gained about half of my weight back--need a buddy to call me every day 3 x a day to keep be accountable and for support--family supports me--but too easy for me not to stay on track with family.

    Hi Ellen!
    Welcome to the forum!
Are you tracking your food? that could help too.
Do you still have a restriction? if yes that should help a lot if you can stick to a plan.
Many people here have seen psychologists/counselors for help pots-op, if you need someone to call you three times a day you might find help in that kind of professional support too.
    Take care.

Sounds like you are looking for a veteran sleeved mentor? if you cannot find one here, I know professional help may cost, but perhaps you might consider to contact Food Addicts Anonymous, perhaps they can connect you with a sleeved mentor in their program???

    Welcome Ellen,
Our journeys contain many struggles but the struggles can be handled. As others have mentioned, professional guidance/counseling may be a very good option for you. I think in Overeaters Anon, they offer counselors/sponsors who can commit to what you are requesting. You keep in touch with them and they help keep you countable. Also, professional counselors may be able to help you, as well. I'm an emotional eater/food addict so my struggle is a daily component for me. I'm looking into all kinds of options because I'm worth it and so are you!

Again, welcome to the forum and please know that you aren't alone. This is a good place with lovely people. All the best!

You can get back on track. Start over. Go back to basics and keep a food diary. Start weening yourself off of your trigger foods. Also write down how you feel when and after you eat something. Maybe it will help you realize what's making you over eat again. Get in touch with your local Overeaters Anonymous group. You got this! Time to take control again

I don't think you'll find anyone here to call you 3 times a day. Heck, my husband who loves me dearly wouldn't even do that for me.

Can you look for a sponsor at Overeaters Anonymous? That program seems like it's set up for the kind of intervention and intensive support you think you need.

You're reaching out for help and that's a good sign. You can reset your sleeve, from what I understand. You should see a nutritionist and maybe someone in your doctor's office who can help you. Tracking really helps but you have to make the commitment. You can do this - don't waste the opportunity. You will find much support here and everyone will be supportive. You will get many opinions and then use the ones that work for you.

    This is what I do:
I track my food daily in my fitness pal on my iphone. It calculates all my macronutrients and calories. I try to limit my carbs to 100g per day. Fats to 40g per day and sugars to 20g per day - Protein, I need 110g daily. I drink a minimum of 60 ounces of liquid a day. If I hit those targets daily, I feel successful. I haven't lost too much weight in the last month because I'm one year out and have lost 105 and I think I'm in a holding pattern, but plan to start some weight training soon. Hope my routine helps you a bit.

Keep writing and listening to opinions and stay focused and take care of yourself. You have to be responsible for yourself. Best Wishes

Etsyby, I bought the book! Thanks, it contains excellent info to know before getting the sleeve and food for thought (pun intended) after the surgery. This is one of my biggest fears, regaining weight.
