When my sugar drops i get shaky and sweaty and feel really weak. i eat a lot of sugary stuff to get it back up....then feel sick. ....help!!!! Also not losing like i thought i would. Feel like my body is fighting back to keep weight.
Please talk to your Dr and nutritionist about your not feeling well like that. Are you assuming it's your blood sugar or testing it?
I feel like that sometimes if I haven't had enough water. Water is a huge part of all of this.
I don't think your weight loss is slow at all. I've lost a little more, but I am working out and still only able to get down about 400-600 calories a day.
do you take any meds that alter blood sugar? I had big swings for months after surgery. it took a while for 1) the anesthesia to wear off (slow metabolism) and 2) get used to so few calories.
it could also be blood pressure drops. do you check your glucose when it happens, is that how you know it's blood sugar?
be sure to eat a protein every 2-3 hours whether you want to or not and see if that helps. maybe eat a high fat snack for one or two of those feeds, high fat, though, not high sugar or high carbs.
it takes a while for your body to stop using sugar for energy and start using fat for energy, too.

This happens to me often since having this surgery, it began probably eight months out (if not sooner and I did not realize what it was). I've been diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia, which from what I've researched happens quite a bit after gastric sleeve surgery. If I maintain a low carb diet (I keep my carbs right around 10g daily) I am perfectly fine, if I start eating carby foods I have low blood sugar issues, I usually don't see a drastic drop until about day two or three of eating incorrectly. Speak with your physician and see what you need to do. Low blood sugar is very dangerous so don't let this slip by. Good luck.
