Does everyone get loose skin after surgery. Is it inevitable?
My skin is somewhat loose. Not too bad. And I am older as well. I will be 44 this year. My sister did hers in her early 30's, lost 100 lbs (she is short like me), and she only had a little loose skin on her belly as she was apple shaped. (I'm a pear so most of my skin is on my thighs.) So it just depends.
Loose skin effects everyone differently. Each persons skin has a different elastisity to it and how well it does during weight varies drastically on everyone. I know 3 people who have had no problems with loose skin with one person dropping almost 200 pounds, I also know one person that had very loose skin after just loosing 90 pounds. Exercise also plays a role into it.
I have loose skin, but it's not a lot and it's not as noticeable as I thought it would be. Most of the time I don't really notice it. If the loose skin around my tummy becomes an issue I might get a tummy tuck, and I'm considering a breast lift next year, but those are big maybes. I'm really really just happy to be healthy and off my meds. And in cute clothes.
Hi Jenny, the doctors told me most people under 300 don't have to much trouble with loose skin. I imagine too it depends on age and how your body works. I've known people that got a lot of loose skin after delivery a baby and my stomach went back to normal. That was when I had my figure and I was 21.
I can only imagine that there is a possibility of loose skin. I have noticed some on my arms and a little bit on my breasts, but I honestly don't EVEN CARE! lol
I'd rather be thin than to deal with being that large ever again.
Any loose skin is better than being fat.
I lost 75 plus pounds and under clothes I look fine. I'm too old for a bikini, so I don't care.
Thank you all sooooo much! I am 32 (almost 300 lbs) and think I have good elasticity in my skin. I guess I will just have to find out. I guess I'm just still so scared overall. I know I have no choice but it's a stressful decision at times. I appreciate the positive vibes and sharing your experiences with me
Has anyone tried laser or other treatments for loose skin on the neck. I have lost 70 pounds since surgery and i have wrinkling and droop below my chin in neck area. I wonder if non invasive treatments can help.

I am 47 and considering having a sleeve done. My skin is good. My weight loss goal is 70 lbs. What do y'all think?
I turned 47 2 days after my surgery have not regretted in it the least. My weight loss goal is far more then yours and I think I'll end up with some loose skin but I would tell you to go for it, if you have weighed all your options and decided this may be te best route for you to take.
