Hi! Congratulations on being sleeved! I've read many times that you should sit on the isle seat if possible, and get up and walk as often as you can, especially on a long flight. Walk to the farthest restroom if you can. Maybe compression stockings would help as well.

I have my sleeve surgery in Mexico scheduled for April 19, and I can't wait! These forums have been an invaluable tool for me, providing tons of good information. Check back to see how others have replied to your question, and I'll be looking too. Good luck, and I wish you the best!

I had broth on my last day in the hospital. Took it slow and it was warm and tasted good! Just sip, sip and sip!
Had my surgery in Florida, so can't advise you on the trip home.

    Best wishes!!

Congratulations on your new life, I had surgery in Mexico too. I was sipping on fluids next day and jello. Pop sickles 2 day, 3rd day tried broth but didn't taste good. I started walking as soon has I was awake enough and never stopped except to take small naps. The trip home I packed soup cubes and bought clear liquids and ate a jello before going through security( I brought with me). I walked around and rested only short intervals. On the plane continued to sip on fluids. My hubby got me first class and got me an isle seat so I could move my legs and when seatbelt sign removed I got up and walked to the far bathroom. My flight wasn't long. It was first to San Francisco than we changed planes and flew to PDx:Portland,Or. I had to skipp fluids on way to border because of a situation hopefully you can figure out. But when I had bathroom access I made sure to sip sip sip walk walk walk with small rest in between. While sitting wiggle your feet and move legs. That's what worked for me. Hope that helps. Good luck with your recovery and hope your trip goes smooth. I'm here if you have any further questions.

My hospital had me sipping protein drinks that same day as I had my surgery. I did find warm liquids a lot easier. Try to walk around as much as you can on the flight and compression socks. I did not fly after my sleeve but in 2008 I had surgery and flew to Japan just a few days later. It was a long flight and rough. But I got through it by walking the aisles as much as I could and also by wearing my compression garment. Just try not to sit too long. And sip frequently. Good luck!
