My surgeon told me a few weeks back, that people who travel to Mexico for surgery and come back, and then have complications , have a hard time finding a doctor willingly to take them on as a patient. He said he won't see them.

That is sad that doctors do not want to help, why do they become doctors to begin with? I'm sure there are some concerns they face dealing with issues like this but you would think the choice to do the right thing and help someone would out weigh them Praying this will all be over for you soon so you can start enjoying your grandbaby!
Cause they're narrow minded arrogant pricks. My Mexico surgeon had more experience, lower complication rate and better credentials than any surgeon within 200 miles of me. He actually used to teach laproscopic technique in the US and Canada.....including at Harvard. My PCP and OBGyn are extremely impressed with my recovery and success and they recommend my surgeon to their patients. The only person I've run into that had anything bad to say about me going to Mexico was the US surgeon who removed my gallbladder 2 years after my VSG. Of course he left me with a 3/4 inch insicional hernia that will require a second surgery to repair which makes him ignorant, arrogant AND incompetent.
In my case, my insurance policy excludes WLS and any complications resulting from WLS. Doesn't matter where I had surgery. Made it easier to make the decision to go to a FACS certified, Bariatric Surgeon of Excellence at an International Center of Excellence in Mexico over a US surgeon with far lesser credentials and experience. Insurance wouldn't have covered complication anyways.
Sorry you are having to go through this.
Oh my, I'm so sorry that happened to you, I can definitely relate. I hope you get you hernia fixed and don't have anymore issues. I'm going to be switching insurance in a year or two and when I do, I'm going to have Dr Roberts take my gallbladder out. I trust him completely, he's helping me now and really didn't have to. He's a good man for sure. If any of you are near Fort Worth TX and your insurance will accept Dr Jay Roberts, I would definitely use him. His mom is a chemical dependency counselor like me, I think that's why I'm a little special to him. I thank God for him daily...

Idk if that's true or not, I just know I'm suffering terribly. I'm in constant pain and I can't keep any kind of food down. I'm trying to drink protein drinks, but they make my stomach ache. I will have to go to the emergency room in the next day or two to get some IV fluids. I know I'm not drinking enough, but I can't help it. All I know is this is the worst sickness I have ever had, and I'm a breast cancer survivor. A double mastectomy and six rounds of chemo wasn't this bad. I'm just praying that the leak is healed this time when I go in on the 8th, if it isn't I truly think I will lose my mind. Forget water boarding, just do this to people you need to talk, I guarantee they will tell you anything you want to know...
I'm glad everything went well for you Bill & like I said before, I'm not discouraging anyone from surgery, I just want them to be aware of what happens if things don't go well. It's messed up my whole life, I think I've lost my job, I had to withdraw from school, & we are falling behind on our bills. I'm also having trouble getting treatment here at home since I had surgery in Mexico. I had no idea that complications from surgery could drag out this long and be this physically painful and debilitating. I just want people to be prepared, because I certainly wasn't...
