Root Canal

So the root canal I had a year ago was a botched one, two days ago my crown popped off and I was horrified with what was in/on the crown!

I had to go to an Endodontist to have oral surgery today and redo the root canal. I had an abscess from a third canal that the other dentist didn't get. That was what has been causing discomfort since.

I am scared to take anything else but tylenol extra strength. The numbing is finally wearing off and I am feeling the pain

I guess I would call my surgeon's office to see if I could take anything stronger if I needed it. I had a root canal and crown a few years ago, and it was my experience that there wasn't much pain as the root was gone, so nothing to cause pain. But you've been through a different situation.

Ouch!! that must be so painful! I feel for you, I had an issue with a root canal a few years ago, took a flight right after it was done and for some reason (the cabin pressure?) I was in pain for one week. Nobody knew why, yet the inflamation was obvious, half my face was swollen! Right now I have issues with my knees, I take MediNatura, T- Relief, Pain Relief Tablets (plus the equivalent of tylenol when it's too much). It works well on all sort of pains or you can just take arnica in pellets (from Boiron or Hyland). I also use arnica in gel for any pain.

What works well for teeth is clove oil, you just need to mix a few drops of the EO with a basic oil (almond, olive, what you have available) and soak a piece of fabric or sponge and leave it one the painful side for a few minutes. In France they used a cream made of clove oil at the dentist until quit recently. It was mainly to avoid anesthesia. It's not as strong as a pain killer but it did the job and without side effects!

So far the pain has been managle with extra strength Tylenol. I tried eating scrambled eggs this morning, some diced strawberries and one ricotta pancake I made, even that caused me some discomfort but mainly it's my jaw and were they injected me I guess. But tooth area is still painful if I chew and my teeth meet on that side.

What the hell. How did they botch it? I would be so pissed. I am sorry you are having to deal with that pain. Mouth pain is definitely no fun. Hope you feel better soon Shirl. Hugs.
