Looks like you are doing great. I had my surgery the same day as you in Oklahoma. I started at 295#s first Dr's visit . Things seem to be moving slow for me. I have lost about 50# so far but I feel like I am at a stand still, hovering around 247- 244 . I feel like I should be losing more. I have a spine injury so my exercise routine is almost nonexistent. I drink protein shakes everyday, eat lots of protein, no sugary food, drink lots of water. I am to see Dr soon for 6 months checkup and am worried he won't be pleased with my progress. I know I am going to weigh what I weigh but feel I should be further down than I am. I have to say I have lost inches and I can even see my feet when I weigh and my belly doesn't rub steering wheel when I drive . My wife can even get her hands all the way around me when she gives me a hug. I see the change but the scale is not moving fast enough for me. I walk maybe twice a week at mall , back pain permitting. I guess I just have to be more patient about it.

First of all, I think 50 pounds is great! Could you have lost it before? Is there any chance you could have access to a recumbent bike or recumbent elliptical bike? I know other people who have been able to use these with back issues. Will insurance pay for a gym membership?

No, I don't think I could have lost it without the surgery. I do have a Silver Sneakers membership at my local YMCA . I went a couple of times but feel uneasy being there.

Jimmy, you have so much to be proud of - 50 pds loss! You're eating right and watching your intake, there's no downside with this. Life sucks at times and you're handling it the best that you can, pat yourself on your back, you're thriving. You're a winner!

Man that's awesome....The NSV's (non scale victories) are the ones I enjoy the most. I had my kindergartner's open house last night. I walked all over the school and had zero knee pain. I was about to get a little teary eyed by the end of it! :-) You're doing great. Keep it up. It's a marathon. Imagine if you lost 50lbs a year for the next couple of years..... wow. The more I lose, the more easily exercise comes.

    Get'er done, amigo.

Woah! Amazing! And you grew another head, too! One with horns! Didn't know that could be a side effect of WLS.
