    Default Upper G.I is over!

OMG! I am so happy THIS part is over. I was dreading the upper G.I because drinking the concoctions just doesn't agree with me. (or many other people.) I stood there trying to take BIG SIPS as requested and wanted to throw up at each swig. Then, they lowered the board (the table in reality) backwards until I was lying flat on my back, still trying not to gag and the radiologist tells me to "roll over like a rotisserie chicken so it all swooshes in your stomach." (I don't know how I drove home after all this.)
So I had the blood work and h.pylori breath tests done yesterday, upper G.I today and I am scheduled to have an echo-cardiogram done early March. Originally last Friday I was told I needed an EKG which I thought was odd due to the fact that I know they'll do that at the hospital for pre-admittance. But they called me today to tell me it was an echo. I am almost done with all the testing.

I'm so glad you are almost done with all of the pre-op stuff! It seems like you have already gone through so much for insurance requirements. The actual sleeve surgery should be a breeze! I'm kinda glad they have different guidelines for Mexico. They do the testing the day before your surgery, without all those insurance prerequisites. In a way that's good, in a way it's not so good. I'm confident all will be well, but you have more assurance that you're healthy enough for surgery.

I'm so happy for you Lori! I can't wait until we both get our sleeves! Not too long now, you will be getting your date soon. Cheers!

I was thrilled when that was over for me too. It sucked when they wanted me to do it again in the ER after surgery to see why I could not get any liquids down. that physically hurt drinking the contrast.

It is something (drinking the goop) I just can't do correctly. The radiologist handed it to me and said "don't chug it, just take BIG sips". I would get a mouthful and my throat would freeze... I don't know HOW I did 15 sips. Then, when I was on my stomach I was given another delightful bottle which was just as nasty, but only had to sip 4 mouthful from a straw. I pray I don't need to do that AFTER surgery, it won't be pretty.

So glad I did not have to do that. I am gagging just reading about you doing it. I am very sensitive to smells and tastes.

Me too! The smells were atrocious. The first bottle was so thick I couldn't swallow. The second bottle was a tad thinner but the flavor with that one was just as gross. Before I drank the first bottle, I was giving a tiny 1oz cup of some bubbly, oozing gunk that burned. Oh, please let this be the end!!

    You're a trooper. I'm thankful I didn't have to do that!
The test after surgery I didn't find to be that bad. Or at least I expected something much worse.
