First, congrats on the progress! I do have a few questions. Can you tell us why it took five years (I will take five years just so you know) it just seems like a long time for a man, maybe you could give suggestions of what to do and what not to do...I'm sure all of us would love to read your journey. You've obviously set goals and have fulfilled them, I for one would love to know how you got there, what hiccups along the way you encountered. Once again, good job, I hope to be you at five years out!
Good gravy, man! So awesome!
And the best part about your post is ... "four and a half years later."

Good questions! At two years out, I had gone from 346 down to 220 and....stopped. I literally spent the next two years at 220 plus or minus two points. I accepted that that was all I was going to lose, bought a whole new wardrobe to accomodate my 36 inch waist (was 48!) and lived happily ever after.
Then came....the cruise.
I've never been on a cruise ship in my life....I wanted to look GOOD without a shirt on on the boat.
So...two small lifestyle changes made a BIG difference: I cut out my afternoon snack (granola bar or pop tart) and I got up at the crack of dawn every single day (except Thanksgiving and Christmas) and trudged to the gym to do 20 minutes on the elliptical.
Busted through that long plateau...in two months lost 10 pounds! Felt good on the cruise...
Felt so good that I kept up the changes after I returned from Jamaica. Started to stall at 202...sooooo close! So I ratcheted up the elliptical to 30 minutes for a week and got down below 200 today.
In all honesty, I felt a bit better at 205 mainly because my clothes still sorta fit...I LOOK better at 200 (without clothes on) but virtually NONE of my clothes fit anymore. Waist is down to 33, pants sag on me, people are asking "have you been sick"?
Wow, 6'4 and under 2 bills. Nice accomplishment.
Impressive Bob...however, you might want to change your name...verylargeBob simply does not fit anymore! Very inspiring to know even after such a long span we can lose more weight than we originally thought! How did you eat, were you low carb? I want more...your story is inspirational!
