Sorry to hear about your accident, I am going to lean more towards this being possibly from meds your taking because of your accident more so then from eating. I know when I have to take certain meds it causes me to bloat pain meds being one of them.

Yep, I'd say pain meds too. I can vouch for those causing weight gain as I have never exercised, but my weight all went away and stayed away. Took pain medications for two days for my shoulder, and had two straight days of weight gain. Nothing else had changed. Didn't take any pain medication yesterday, and my weight went right back down.
No pre-op diet
