    Default Bone Broth

I'm going to make homemade bone broth for my pre or post op but I want to buy bone broth in powder form, just in case. Any brand recommendations?

My plan is making homemade chicken soup and straining out the chicken and noodles and just making ice cube sized broth cubes.

I don't think I would've been able to handle that. I couldn't handle the smell or taste of beef broth or chicken broth in the two weeks I was on liquids. The only thing I could handle was veggie broth or broth from a chinese take out place and either of those options I watered down.

Oh that's right Luna! I remember someone posted about the Chinese broth and it was you. I'll have to keep that in mind, because I really don't know if I'll be able to handle the smell of the chicken broth, let alone the taste (it kind of bugs me NOW. )

I used and still use OssoGood bone broths, I order online. Great for recipes. I love all their rich broths. I have found others at Sprouts and Whole Foods frozen section for much cheaper, but they are not as tasty or as rich in protein.

Yes, me! And the funny thing is I was good with it from one place, but not from another. From the place I liked it from, it had a light flavor, but no smell. The other place smelled too much like chicken. Sipping on warm broth was so soothing though!

you don't even need to put noodles in it if it's just for you. if it's for the fam, that's another story. I made big pots of broth just for myself and gave the meats to my husband or the dogs. you don't even have to strain out the veggies, just put it all into the blender, for a full liquid. you'll only be on clear liquids for 1-3 days post op, usually, then it's on to full liquids.

I just got back from my one on one with the nutritionist and she showed me the small box of BONE BROTH. She said it was very tasty and good, I can use that my first week after surgery.
Boy, what a meeting that was I had! My head is swimming... besides all the vitamins and supplements I am to start taking NOW- and for the rest of my life; and the first week of drinking nothing but ISOPURE (which I have not had yet)- and the bone broth- I have a headache. SO MUCH INFO! Christie, the lists of foods and liquids you sent were very similar. But I am overloaded at the moment. :/

I know so much info....it's quite overwhelming. Bone broth is nothing special just a stock but is supposed to be very healthy because you get vitamins and minerals that bouillon cubes don't give you. I've done tons of research and i'm determine to do this right. I want to make sure i'm getting in as much nutritional values as possible especially in the beginning.

Thank you! I ended up buying lonelife bone broth packets and even thought it's good I can't stand broth. It has 10 grams of protein which is great but not a fan of broth.
