I have my first consultation appointment on Thursday the 16th! I am so excited! I haven't had hope in so long with regards to my weight issues. I've always been "overweight", but also very active. In November of 2008 I received a kidney transplant and since then my weight has been ticking up and up and up. In fact, that's my doctor's only concern. My kidney is great, my labs are good, but my weight is killing me.

My consult is with BMI of Texas in San Antonio and the surgeon I'm meeting with is Dr. Seger.

Thanks everyone for the welcome! My appointment (consult) went great! Dr. Seger seems wonderful, and so does his staff. I'm going to be Patient Pay, as we have a exclusion on our insurance. I'm not really upset about that because now we can go at a quicker pace. My insurance has a 6 month minimum wait and multiple nutrition classes. Going with Patient Pay I only need 1-2 nutrition classes, a sleep study, an endoscopy and a psych evaluation. Oh, and a nephrology clearance. I couldn't be more excited! I will be perusing this site and asking lots of questions. Thanks again!
